Crowder + Amir > Ibaka
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Ibaka is the type of shotblocker this team needs. He is bullstrong and has good mid range jumper. A Horford complementary big.

Nah.

I'd rather wait until free agency and sign Ibaka for "free".

What makes you believe he will lineup outside the Celts door once FA starts!?

To Magic:  Amir, Zeller, Crowder, Rozier, 2 high 2nd round picks
To Celtics: Ibaka, Zimmerman, Wilcox, Meeks (waive)

*resign Ibaka to an extension 5 year 100 million dollars

Celtics new roster

Horford
Ibaka
Brown
AB
IT

KO/Zimmerman
Jerebko/Mickey
Young/Green
Smart/Wilcox
Jackson

yay or nay?
nay -- too rich a package for Ibaka.  he's not the player he was 2-3 years ago.  definitely wouldn't pay him $20 mill per year either.

while I'd like to have him on the roster, he still doesn't address this team's need for an alpha star.  He's a great supporting player to have like IT and Horford.

The essence of the OP's proposal is Rozier and Crowder for a player of undetermined age and declining production, plus giving him $20 million/year for 5 years. IMO we can find a better use for our assets and cap space.

1989 born. What you mean?
He is still young

Are you going to say next Gianni's, Biyombo, Gasoline are all lying about their age

Even if Ibaka doesn't comeback what are we really losing? As much I like Crowder, Dozier these guys are bench/support players.   Ibak a gives us a chance to beat the raptors and maybe take cav to 7

No. He is not saying that about those other guys. But there is significant question about his age, particularly with how quickly his athleticism seems to be declining.

I don't know if he would be interested in the Celtics. Obviously, if he wants to win and start on a good team then Celtics will probably be on his shortlist. Conversely, if he only cares about money then we won't see him in green, and frankly I don't mind if that's the case.
