Jaylen Brown isn't ready to start. Need a veteran SF to start ahead of him.

I rather start a semi ready Brown to have Horford and Ibaka patrol the paint and launch bombs from the 3 pt line

No thanks, let someone else pay Ibaka that kind of money.

I do like the thought of using Crowder as a trade piece for another big.  It would force Jaylen to learn on the fly but that might not be a bad thing.

We dont have nearly enough SF depth to make this deal.

Brown was a #3 pick for a reason. His defensive stats are impressive for a rookie and is looking more comfortable on the offensive zone

Crowder is a solid defensive player/leader, but he is too streaky of a shooter at the very best

I like this idea. We are more competitive now while keeping future intact. Not sure Orlando is that interested in Rozier though with Patton being groomed to play their starting PG.

We give up 2 starters and 1 rotation player for 1 starter--a starter whose athleticism and defensive impact are declining. His reputation is greater than his on-court impact.

Ibaka is not really a all-star player or a difference maker. Honestly, he is very comparable to Crowder in overall impact, but we aren't just giving up Crowder.

I was liking this on the surface at first.  I do NOT consider losing a "starter" in Amir really losing a starter.  So, that part made me care LESS.  Amir is now a JOKE.

Then I looked at real plus minus stats and saw that Ibaka is ranked 37th in defensive RPM and 24th in RPM and 17th in WINS.  All of those were just among power forwards.

Now I agree with the let someone else OVER pay him sentiment.

In think in a scenario where we trade crowder to Orlando, I would like to get A. Gordon and M. Hezonja, not Ibaka. And I think it would be a fair trade for both sides

Yes he is ready. Crowder is one-way player. I like him, but we need more from an SF. Jaylen has all, just needs minutes.

Right now, Crowder is the better player and I say that loving Brown and being excited when he enters the game.

This trade is a poor one for us.   Giving up, Rozier who is a nice backup.

That is even a worse trade.

I'd rather take our lumps and see if Ainge can pick up someone during the trade deadline on the cheap from someone no longer in contention for the playoffs.  Neither of these trades moves us to a championship, which should be our end goal.

Nah.

I'd rather wait until free agency and sign Ibaka for "free".
