I think there are a number of people here that would prefer not to sign Hayward next offseason, at all, nevermind trade our best prospect and a BKN pick for the right to pay him loads of money. I probably lean toward signing him if Griffin/Durant don't want to to come here (not likely, I know), but it's not the homerun move that we all dream of.

With that in mind, I take both Jaylen and the BKN pick off the table and probably offer something like Rozier and 2018 Bos pick along with Amir. I don't even like the idea of trading Rozier, tbh, but if Danny decides that he wants Hayward and doesn't think he can sign him away from Utah in the off-season, then he is going to have to give up something of value.

Like with Horford, I would much prefer to wait until the offseason and hope for the best. He is not so good that we have to have him, but I wouldn't turn him away, either.

Well, I would like to target Hayward but not sure this is the right deal.   Like the others have said, it does feel like an overpay, especially considering GH contract status.  But the other thing is that Utah is trying to turn the corner.   Brown/picks is a rebuilding package and not likely what they need (despite the overpay).

I'd look to build a package around either Bradley or Crowder.   Both are the kind of vet that would help Utah pursue their win-now agenda.

How about AB and Kelly straight up?
Seems like a fair deal, considering how much Avery has improved.  He'd be a nice fit beside Hill and Hood, give them a defensive stopper to compete with all the elite pg's out west.

AB is our best player. No way I trade him. I'd rather trade IT.

I'm not trading Jaylen Brown. He's going to be a better player than Gordon Hayward, but he's also the bridge to building a long term contender.  With the Nets picks, Smart, Bradley, and Rozier, Danny's set this team up to make deals without moving Brown.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Overpay, imho
We have cap room and have to give up nothing to sign him. Just wait it out.

All this talk of overpay... but why would Utah give up their only scorer to go younger?

This seems like another thread topic waiting to explode.
