Wiggins has a PER of 15.6 this year and Jae has a PER of 16.6 this year.  And we are also giving us arguably our best defender in Smart AND the Nets' pick:-)))

I hope that Danny has MORE sense than this Mr. Spence:-))  I am a poet and don't know it!!

Smitty77

Maybe Ainge can use this PER argument with Thibs and try to keep a straight face while he asks for the deal....

I call BS Wiggins has a PER of 15.47 to Crowder 's 15.80 as of this morning.

Wiggins also score 22 per game to his 12.  I would bet 90% of GMs would take Wiggins over Crowder.

All that means is Rubio is the one who is going to get traded and we sure as heck don't want dribbling specialist, who is more flash than production.

Yeah, every GM would likely take Wiggins over Crowder, but he is like the 3rd best piece in this deal. The BKN pick is 1st and Smart is 2nd. I don't necessarily think Minny would take this deal, but it checks a lot of boxes for Thibs:

1) Good veteran leadership (win-now)
2) Passion and grit (Minny is TOTALLY lacking)
3) Another super-high draft pick next year (chance for another Wiggins)

I am not sure Ainge does this deal either. We gut our team and future assets to make it younger, bring in a Jaylen Brown clone, and then what, deal Horford and IT because they don't fit in with the new timeline of the team?

I get the Wiggins is this supposed future stud, but future all-star doesn't mean future superstar.

Trading both of our emotional leaders is a recipe for disaster on the locker room.

Yeah because trading Perkins worked for the Celtics at that time  ::)

As of December 8th, Crowder's PER was 16.54.

He then had arguably his worst game of the season and it dropped.

Both teams say no.  But I don't see Minny giving up a #1 overall pick so soon in a trade.

Crowder, Rozier, and Nets Pick for Hayward.  Gives Utah another two young players (Terry and the pick) to team with Rudy, and Boston gets another all star (Hayward is absolutely deserving of it this season) to team with IT and Al.
Overpay for Hayward.

Seriously. I know we have to cash in these picks but I'd throw up if I heard that trade happened.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

My premise is this: it's highly unlikely Thibs keeps all three of KAT, Wiggins, and LaVine considering his reputation for impatience and their lack of veteran toughness -- something the Cs have to offer.

Clearly he's not trading KAT. And I don't think he can get comparable value from LaVine as he can from Wiggins. So I think Wiggins may be the one that goes.

Unless Minnesota has a feeling that Wiggins doesn't want to re-sign for big money, there's really no way that they're trading him. It would likely have to be an overpay to acquire a former #1 with good size and great athleticism that is scoring 20 ppg. This particular kid was picked to be the next great one.

I can't see Minnesota getting rid of Wiggins before he hits his prime.

Wiggins a near future all star. Thibs hangs up the phone. This trade idea is pure fantasy.

He's really not that likely to make an all-star team in the west anytime soon. This is the point.

I'm not sure why you think that. His raw numbers are all star caliber now and he's only 21. With even just marginal increases next season and improvement from the Wolves (in terms of winning) he'd definitely be in all star contention as early as next season.

We have an all star who half the people want to trade or bring off the bench.  His deficiencies get brought up a lot.  I suspect Wiggins may eventually be this type of all star.  Well, maybe not the coming off the bench part.
