If we decided to move IT4 for a big who do you think we could get?

Try to keep this thread to what trade value he has. I know many will want to respond saying this thread is an over reaction and we need IT.

I'm just curious if anyone can find a legit deal involving IT and us getting a solid big back.

Ok, I will play...

Nikola Jokic and draft picks from Denver.

PG J Nelson is 34 and not the future in Denver.  Mudiay is probably more of a shooting/combo guard.

That would be interesting. The main problem is they have Mudiay so they would have to be ok with moving him to the 2.

I always thought they were grooming Mudiay to play the point.

Denver were starting Nelson (PG) and Mudiay (SG) together for a few games.

Since then they have changed the lineup back and moved Mudiay back to PG but over the last 3 games they have cut Mudiay's minutes. Averaging only 20mpg.

I wonder if they are still convinced Mudiay is their PG of the future. They may be wavering.

What could we get if we trade IT4?

- Substantially reduced odds to do anything of note in the playoffs.

- A significantly less entertaining team to watch.

- Bad karma

- More young players we don't have time or patience to develop fully.

- More picks that will fall in the 5-20 range to be used on high floor prospects we'll just resent for not being the higher upside / higher bust potential freaks taken later in the draft by other teams.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

TP to you.

I sometimes don't understand people on this blog.

Do people not see how much he has talked up the Celtics and the city of Boston, gone to bat for us, and try and get other players here?

It would be, as you said, TERRIBLE, karma to trade him now, not to mention probably anger the team while making it worse.

I'd give you more than one TP for this if I could.

He should get at least two firsts (not BKN good but one top 7 and one top 20) and a young talent. He could also he traded as centerpiece for a better player

I think the only way we even consider trading Thomas is if we get something substantial in return. Best case we package him, filler and our Brooklyn picks for the likes of a Anthony Davis or Kristaps Prozingis (assuming we would have to take on DRose’s terrible contract in this scenario). Chances of either team bighting on that is slim but I just don’t see the value in trading Thomas for a ‘decent’ big. I would have sad Cousins but I can’t imagine Sacremento wanting to bring IT back.
It amazes me the domino effect my bring Thomas off the bench thread started around here.

No one in this thread has said we should trade IT. The thread is a question of what value he has in a trade but thanks for the lecture.

Please keep this thread to actual trade value conversation.

I haven't been following them as closely as you. I would had thought he would be getting 30 plus minutes this year so you might be right. Hopefully for his sake he doesn't have to move to shooting guard because he's a terrible jump shooter.

I was thinking the exact same thing...

the discussion is about what his value is around the league *IF* a trade were to be made.

So what is his value? DeAndre Jordan level? Slightly less? Slightly more?

Would anyone here trade IT for Kevin Love?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.
