We need more consistent shooting. Crowder 2-11 RoZier 4-12 Smart 3-11 Kelly 2-7 Zeller 0-3 That's 11-44. That's not going to cut it.
Those shots from Roz will turn around.

But we don't need IT. Nope, that's some great shooting according to the "Trade IT" crowd here.

I'm not on the trade IT bandwagon (not right now anyways - I'm not paying him big, starter money long-term), but he's put up some bad fg% games himself lately. He's a volume shooter, so that argument doesn't really make sense. He would've helped with his penetration, but saying we need his shooting doesn't really make sense.

Stevens should be second guessing not going with Jerebko over Crowder down the stretch.
eh. Jae didnt play well and Jonas did, but Im fine with it. Jae is a good player. You trust your good players to play well.
Usually yes but this was a stinker for Crowder. He should had went with Jerebko

Looking at the box score. Horford took 13 shots and 8 of them were 3's. I know we want him to stretch the defense but that's not a ratio I'm comfortable with.

  • GOT IT!!!
Most frustrating loss of the season.  >:(

I'm tired of hearing the excuses mostly from media about this team. They aren't playing up to potential. Have yet to beat a really good team. Starting to question whether this group can actually get out of the first round again.

I mean, we have also lost three starters for a significant number of games, too. You can't really make any conclusions about this game without IT. He would've helped us with his penetration at least somewhat, though I do really worry about how much more their backcourt would've had with him out there.

I'm not making conclusions about one game. I'm making conclusions of what my eyes sees. These guys aren't making the leaps many thought they would. I compare the C's against the better teams in the league not blowing out the Magic. I feel like we are seeing some plateauing.

True. And why he puts freaking Crowder on Derozan is beyond me. He gave Derozan that last shot with about 10 feet of open space to spare.

Losing a close game to the Raptors is not any great evidence that we need Isaiah Thomas.

If youd told me we would beat the Magic and lose a close one to the Raptors I would not assume something(like losing your leading scorer) had gone wrong.
Our inability to create any offense is a good indication we aren't going far unless we have IT

We needed IT, in that second half for sure. He could have come off the bench, and gotten some baskets. Or another scorer that can put the ball in the hole. Without Thomas, this is the team we had after the Rondo-Green trades, competitive but not enough scoring.

What happened to Crowder, he was terrible tonight. AB was very good, so was Jerebko.

This team doesn't have a guy who will score when the game gets tough.  We knew this already.  IT often acts the part, but he's a bit too inefficient to be a true go-to guy... and we didn't even have him tonight.  Team is still a piece or two away.

Crowder's misses hurt us tonight.  2-11.  Good looks, though... need to knock more of them down. Marcus had some really ugly shots driving to the basket - he wasted a few possessions that ended in what can best be described as heaves.

I do think Toronto played very physical, aggressive defense in the second half and got away with it.  Meanwhile, we weren't allowed to do the same.  That was disappointing.

They were screening him off his man away from the ball and he kept getting stuck on the screener.

Jerebko and Brown should have seen more time in this one. Both brought energy and scoring but only got 11 combined shots on which they were 6-11 and 3-5 on 3s. Both were a +5.

Yep. Funny stat - only three players were positive in +/- tonight - Smart with +12, JJ and Brown both with +5. Goes to show you that their backcourt went off offensively without Smart's defense out there, and JJ and Brown need to be utilized more. Crowder shouldn't have been out there in the end.

If I have to watch Zeller again this season I will be sick.. also, when they get the ball to horford in the paint he makes good moves and either takes it to the hoops or passes in a timely manner... I'm prettyuch done with smart being a difference maker.. he's an energy defensive guy and that's really it.

Toronto is a top 4 team. We are a fun team even with IT4. We aren't beating the raptors or Cavs.

IT is awesome.  This team just doesn't have a true identity yet.  When teams focus on IT and take him away is an issue, but IT can score with the game on the line.  So can AB and Horford.  Brown is the missing link in ways but still very young.  Crowder has to do a better job not launching 3's in that instance imo.

We could trade IT and Crowder for Paul George but again we are in that same bind.  It's not really worht dealing for us unless we can fill a couple needs.

IE pairing draft picks with someone to get a couple guys..

Eh, I think we've looked much, much better the last three games, especially our defense. Hopefully we get rolling again once IT gets back healthy.
