bradleys discipline, attention to detail and what made him so good on defense
now applied to getting to hoop, ball handling and rebounding-this guys jumper is a thing of beauty
,his lift and form almost look textbook-i believe his shooting avg is just going to get better
i allways thought jo jo white was so underrated

Great comparison to Jo Jo.

Both underrated, thank goodness Jo Jo recently got in HOF - long over due.

Of course AB's defense is a little better than White's and Jo Jo probably the better scorer over the long haul, but very good comparison.

Yes, a strong sense of discipline, but also good mentors in former vet teammates who told him many things including trying to get better every year.

AB can now create his own shot.  That is not an easy skill to master.  He can drive to the hoop.

The rebounding this year is another pleasant surprise.

Easily my favorite Celtic.

Hopefully he can stay healthy to both contribute this year and to enhance his value on the trade market, because contractually and being guard heavy could mean that he is gone in the summer or by next trade deadline. This is hard for me to accept., but I get it.

He is the consummate Celtic. His hard work and it's resultant improvement and his dogged determination are admirable.

His humility even more-so, especially in this day of prima donna, entitled athletes.

This from Himmelsbach's twitter:

Bradley on Isaiah finding him for 3:
"Right after the play I told him 'Thank you for just believing in me.' He looked at me like, 'What?'"

And he is held in such high regard by his competitors and teammates alike:

Isaiah on Avery: "What is he, first-team all-defense?"
*crowd nods*
"For a reason. He’s the best on-ball defender in the NBA."

How can you not love this guy?

Please stay healthy, AB, both selfishly for us (the Cs) and for yourself so you can get that big payday that you deserve, wherever that might be. You've earned it.

Bradley is a conundrum. I'm not so sure Ainge should be so quick to let him walk or trade him. His defense and scoring is vicious when you combine him with Smart. I don't think Fultz is a better 2 way player than AB. I like this 4 guard rotation of IT, AB, Smart and Rozier.  You get defense and scoring.

I would seriously consider trading the Nets pick for a stud SF/PF/C.

That's just me.

If you pair him with Ball I think this team would carry a whole new dynamic and a much stronger defensive presence.. Now while I would love to keep IT I just dont see the market for him as a Max player especially when Bradley could cost possibly 10 mil less a year... Its too early to tell but Bradley needs to stay whether IT decides to do the same or not ..

Bradley may have been kept out a little longer than necessary before the trade deadline, if he was being used as trade bait. He showed last night he's still an integral part of the team--especially in key defensive situations.

Great to see him so locked in defensively, I hadn't seen that very much from him this year.  He's so valuable when he defends like that.  Maybe the shorter minutes allows him more energy to get after it.

I agree that Ball and Avery would be a great tandem.

It's been great watching him develop. And older posters will remember Bradley was despised here for his first year and a half or so. A good lesson in not giving up on a young player too quickly.

That defensive stop on Irving, forcing him into a jumpshot, was unreal.

Hope we sign Avery long term, and draft forward in 2017 (Jackson), and center in 2018 (Ayton or Bamba).

We will never get the return value in a trade of Avery that we would get by keeping him long term.

I am going back and forth

He should be an example to every rookie. He had a tough start , injuries received a lot of doubt but every year gets better He has never complained ,never caused a problem, team first (and second and third) mentality.

But he misses every year a lot of games and now he has the chance to go for +15m. I don"t know if you can pay him 18-19m and still improve the team to win the trophy.

So imho it is not a simple as footey puts it
I agree that the Cs won't get a fair return if they trade AB but there is also the possibility of watching him walk for free...

Avery is amazing.. Loved him from the minute we picked him up. Loved him even more after that Block on Wade..  With that said He cant/wont Stay here.. He deserves to get paid and this is probably his last chance at the big money.. He took the homeCooked deal already...  Danny is not going to Offer him his worth and we are Guard heavy with our 17 pick probably being another guard that We will have to make room for in his 2nd year..
