Bogut is exactly what this team needs. We wouldn't have to give up any real assets for him, he would significantly improve our teams greatest need, and he doesn't mess with our future cap.
I was annoyed in the off season that we didn't trade for him when Golden State were looking to dump him to be honest.

Does he make us a title contender this year?   He should would help but that is the big question to me.

I like ABogut, but I wouldn't break the bank for him.

Our problem, IMO is our length.  We just too short of a team specially when we are closing games.  Our 3 guard line up has to be the shortest in the league -- by quite a bit....

Hard to close games if we can't secure rebounds in the last 2 minutes

So you get Bogut to be able to rebound in the last 2 minutes.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

No he won't but he'd be a cheap improvement that wouldn't limit our options.  There's no one that we could realistically acquire other than Cousins who would make us a true contender this year.

In response to the OP, "maybe they are".

This from a poster on RealGM in the trade thread:

CLNS Radio podcast guy claims he has an exclusive update on Bogut's trade status that should come out in the next 36 hours.

Turn to around 50:00 in the podcast to hear it. Interesting that CLNS all of a sudden has a source in on this.

I think that it's going to be that we're waiting until January until we can trade Zeller.

How is CLNS as a source? maybe some cred here.

How about Marcin Gortat for 2 future 2nds and Zeller. Washington is going nowhere fast.

well, the podcast guest appears to be ESPN's Jeff Goodman. he's very close to Danny and has been first on reporting quite a few Celtics transactions in recent months (Jaylen pick, waiving RJ, etc)

I agree. My question was more rhetorical, though.

TP for the response.

Rumor has it that he used to work at a Lexus dealership.

I'm all for adding Bogut cheap, but does anyone actually buy that it'll change the Celtics fortunes during his 6 month rental?

I promise that I am NOT trying to be difficult, but I just started at 50:00 and ALL they were talking about was Kelly and him being a good 9th or 10th man or the 4th big.

He won't solve all of our issues, but he'll help shore up a major weakness (rebounding). He won't make us a contender, or solve our need for another big scorer, but starting him and moving Amir to the bench would have a big effect on a major weakness (rebounding) and might help to make our weak bench just a little better

He'd probably add a win or two over the course of the season, and help in the playoffs. Nothing drastic, but if the price is Zeller and either 2 seconds or a late first, why not? (And as an added bonus, that trade would mean we wouldn't have to watch Zeller anymore)
I'm bitter.
