I would have to strongly disagree with giving up that much for Cousins.

I love it for the Celtics. I'm not certain that the Kings say yes to this, but they might have to if DMC doesn't plan on resigning. I really like the combo of Horford and Demarcus.

I agree that Sacramento would not accept this trade as they know they have leverage on us with the 2017 Brooklyn pick.

But the inclusion of Rozier is because he projects to be worthy of a lottery pick given his development and emergence as a ball handler. So I am placing a lottery pick value on him.

Maybe my view of Rozier is impacted by the green shade of glasses I'm wearing but if my opionion is true then that is a very good return of 3 lottery picks + A key piece in Crowder cost controlled. Johnson they can either wave or retain... their option.

Are you kidding..

Kings would do this in a heartbeat.... Counsins and Omri are GONE regardless.. they dont have leverage.. those players are gone and not resigning.

It's not that I don't think that Cousins is leaving. I just think SAC could do better. In the NBA, 4 quarters does not equal a dollar.

Danny Ainge is never going to ask for Ben McLemore.

Casspi is out of the rotation and is available for peanuts.

That's a lot to give up for Cousins, even if he's a better teammate than his reputation.

That team isn't even remotely possible.  Without running the numbers you would for sure have to renounce the rights to Zeller, Jerebko, McLemore, Casspi, Olynyk and probably more just to be able to offer Hayward a max contract.

With running the numbers it is remotely possible.

Horford = $27m
Bradley = $8.8m
Zeller = $8m (team option)
Thomas = $6.3m
Brown = $5m
Olynyk = $4.3m
Jackson = $1.3m
Cousins = $17m
Casspi = $3m (FA)
McLemore = $5.4m
Nader = $1.3m
Jerebko = $5m (FA)
Zizic = $1.3m
Yabusele = $1.3m

Total = $95m
2017/18 Salary Cap = $102m
Room if we opt not to sign Zeller/Jerebko/Casspi/Olynyk = $27m

Draft picks will take space too so we'll need to make a minor move to free up space.

Like I said the roster you have suggested is not possible for next year.  By your own numbers you have eliminated Zeller, Jerebko, Casspi and Olynyk and you still aren't able to offer Hayward a max deal.  The problem is that McLemore will have a 10 mill. cap hold not 5.4 mill., Olynyk's cap hold will be 7.7 mill. or so, there are also cap holds on all empty roster spots and 3 to 6+ million for new rookie contracts to consider.

I haven't checked the numbers but I know as fact that OPs scenario is not possible. Standing pat we cannot afford a max FA so adding salary by trading for Cousins means we definitely won't be able to
