If there is one thing I'll never understand in American culture it's the appeal of crowded, stampeding, shopping on Black Friday. My kids are older now, but when younger holiday shopping was always in moderation - so dealt with regular crowds but not the Black Friday craziness (saving a few dollars or making sure the kids had the latest thing never seemed worth it) . From what I see on TV, seems to be worse every year. Hopefully good for the retailers but not sure it's America's proudest tradition. No offense meant to those who love it (or who do it to put a smile on your kids' faces), but it has no appeal for me at all.
