What if Russ is going to leave OKC? In this scenario, we have more than enough assets to acquire a rental player.

OKC doesn't have to worry about that for a while
I'm bitter.

It's very close but I vote no. Only because I don't know if team would retain BS and Fultz as well as Ayton look super good.

I'd feel much better if we did
IT, Crowder, AJ, Clippers and Grizz 1st for Anthony Davis.

Starters=Smart, Bradley, Brown, Davis, Horford
Bench= Rozier, Green, JJ, KO, Zeller

Or
Smart, Crowder, JJ, Clippers and Grizz 1st for Cousins

Starters=IT, AB, Green, Horford, Cousins
Bench= Rozier, Brown, KO, AJ, Zeller

Keep both Nets picks.
Who is Ayton?  Why would we lose Stevens if we got Westbrook?

You're NOP trade proposal wouldn't get them to answer the phone and the Kings proposal is a bit better so they'd listen and then hang up.  We're not trading for a star without giving up at least one of the Nets picks.  If Davis comes on the market, acquiring him would require a lot of our best assets.
-Ayton is future draft class prospect for Nets 2018.
-Westbrook doesn't play in a system he does what he wants. BS probably would not stick with that.

And I obviously disagree on needing to give up more for Davis who averages like 63 games a year and is having back issues. And on Cousins who can't control himself every fifth game and blows up. Cousins who is also on a year and a half left contract pretty much if you get him.

To be honest, I wouldn't, because RW has a player option in 2018, and I doubt he uses it.

Which means you give up IT, Both BKN picks, and maybe some filler for 1.5 years of RW, but then after that if he leaves, it's back to square one pretty much.

Well he does have a Player Option in 2018, so if you think he will excercise it, sure. If not, then he has 1.5 years left in his contract once the deadline approaches.

I forgot that he signed an extension, but does 1.5 more years really matter all that much to OKC? It doesn't seem like they are built to win this year or next year, and are they sure they can sign another big name player to couple with Westbrook?

I truthfully don't, but it's possible they trade for Rudy Gay to add a legitimate shooter alongside Westbrook. I think that could get them to Top-4 in the west, and then the playoffs is do-or-die for any team (even the Warriors)

Yes.

Kind of a no brainer. Can't believe the voting is so close.

Wow, that'd be awesome.

Westbrook
AB
Crowder
Smart / Kelly
Horford

Pretty much our biggest knock is that we're not tough/physical/big enough right?  He seems like the perfect guy to fix that.  Also fixes any lingering rebounding issues, and fixes our 1 and only defensive liability (the little guy).  Vastly improves our ability to switch anywhere.

It'd truly be great to no longer have an undersized backcourt of 5'9" and 6'2" (and we all know RW is bigger than 6'4").  I'd love to see AB go back to hounding the opposing PG/ball-handler, which is really his specialty.

Also be great to finally have somebody who can get to the line consistently.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
OKC got thumped by the Kings last night. The supporting cast around Westbrook is just pathetic.
Their defenders can't shoot and their shooters can't defend.

If we could somehow get Stephen Adams along with WB in some kind of trade that would make us a true contender.

Westbrook
Bradley
Crowder
Horford
Adams

Smart
Olynyk
Brown

Off the bench.

Assuming we'd have to give up both BRK picks+Rozier+IT+Memphis pick+ something else. They'd probably demand Brown if we asked for Adams as well. I really wanna hold on to Brown at all costs.

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No, of course not, not even through free agency.
Slight upgrade at the, by far, deepest position in the NBA isn't worth a max contract.

Westbrook is not a top 5 player in the NBA, never has been. That's fantasy basketball talk.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

IMO any trade proposal for Westbrook or Cousins that doesn't include the Brooklyn picks is highly unrealistic. In addition to the picks, I think that these teams would be looking for younger players under team control for a number of years like Crowder, Smart, and Brown, probably at least two of them.
