Boston's fourth-quarter defensive meltdown is a sign of bad things to come.

Jaylen Brown's short shorts are a sign of bad things to come.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think Embiid can be better than both Towns and Davis. Embiid and Towns are good in the post, Davis scores based on his athleticism. Also Embiid looks like a better defender than both of them. I've been disappointed in the Pelicans overall defense as a team historically. Maybe its the organization, but I've read from Lowe that Davis makes mistakes on that end.

Also, Julius Randle looks good. It's one game, but he had a good year last year as well....
I agree.

What separates Towns from the rest is a trait similar to Embid (which all the GREATEST players of all time had)...They want/demand the ball when things are on the line and both play with the same passion on both ends.

But yeah, Embid absolutely schooled Stephen Adams on multiple possesions today. Adams is now considered an elite defensive big man and Embid embarrassed him tonight considering he was a rookie.

He reminds me of Olajuwan so much.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

CBS ....with KO and now Smart out , has hard schedule for opening ,  he needs to win , but not kill Horford and Crowder in the process.

He was cutting it really close last night ,  expecting a second squad without Smart to hold the fort .

I am going to bet the house on the Suns and Nets to win the next game.

The Boston Bench stinks.

We have poor concentration in the 4th qtr.

The playoffs will be decided by the end of the World Series.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Jaylen Brown is a young Kobe. When he develops his 3 pointer, watch out league!

We're doing overreactions? In that case, I'll go with "our bench is absolutely awful."

Regular reaction: It's been one game.

That Anthony Davis is the reincarnation of Wilt the Stilt and ave 50 ppg.
That IT is goin to be that little guy on roids this yr.
towns is better than Davis

Disagree

Both are excellent

Davis was disappointing last year. Injuries had a lot to do with it but Davis needs to cement his HOF potential.
Towns is better.  Towns is bigger and has range.

Nice game by Davis, but he played 41 minutes and has no supporting cast right now.

He's got per-36 numbers of 32.7 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game.

Many people here already declared him a "bust" before he played a single game.  Lol

playing 41 minutes shouldn't be looked at negatively when assessing davis

I know you put a lot of stock in per 36, but actually playing 36+ minutes and playing well is better than playing 15 minutes and playing well

If you're out there on the floor, that is better than potentially being out there on the floor

Having said that, it'll be interesting to see the careers of Davis, Towns, and Embiid unfold. They all look special
I trust Danny Ainge

Davis is great.  I'm not saying Davis isn't great.  I'm saying it was one game, he has no supporting cast, he played almost the entire game, and his team lost.  Stats happen.  Double Embiid's debut minutes from 20 to 40 and he'd put up 40 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks.   Certainly not denying Davis is sensational.  I was comparing him to KG as a rookie and people  here laughed at me.   He's great.  I'd still build a team with Towns if given a choice.
