Name your 5 overreactions
Impressed by lakers

Impressed by Kings

I think Lopez won't end the season on the Nets

Harden will lead the league in assists

Think Suns and Nets will fight for worst record

note this is just for fun so don't need to be super serious

Lakers looks [dang] good. I don't like it lol

Our bench sucks.

Anthony Davis is confirmed the GOAT.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

- Warriors are overrated
- Nets are gritty
- Rockets will be the new "Steve Nash Suns"
- Both Lakers and Sixers looked better
- Kawhi for MVP
- DeRonzan is not far behind
- Timberwolves are overhyped

Jaylen Brown will be a difference maker in his first season.

Avery Bradley should not only be the Celtics captain but will play like one.

Al Horford will be a star in green for at least three years

The Celtics will be a top four team in the league

Another summer where Harden says he has been working really hard on his defense...

Another game where Harden literally stops playing defense in clutch minutes down the stretch...

Seriously, I would prefer RJ over Harden. He ran about five clear-out ISOs under 3 minutes to go, all of which were either stripped, blocked, or hard contested threes. I think Harden annoys me more than LeBron, Pau Gasol, the Philadephia 76ers, and Ted Cruz combined now.

-Warriors bigs are so bad they'll be destroyed by anyone who rely on their bigs
-Philly/Lakers may end up being decent/watchable teams
-Damian Lillard/Anthony Davis will compete for MVP
-Joe Johnson has a fountain of youth
-Rudy Gay will enjoy this year in Sacramento.
-The Knicks will go nowhere near their "superteam" label.

Oh wait, that last one's not an overreaction.

I'll keep my observations to the only team that matters to me:

1)    Jaylen Brown can play, and I think he will contribute throughout the year.

2)   Our bench missed Smart's toughness

3)   Right now, we have guys who are hurting us by being so unselfish, its ok to take over a game.

4)    Horton is a perfect fit and can be a nice rim protector.

5)    Rozier defers too much to the starters when he is there with them.   I would like to see the level of confidence we saw in the preseason and him launching threes as he can shoot

I disagree, but you are fair to make that call.

Both supremely talented young big men who appear to have nearly unlimited potential, and by all means it could go either way.

May well go the KG / TD direction where (IMHO) neither of those guys was really better then the other - it was really 1A and 1B.

I've noticed this as well.

It seems to me like he wants to earn the respect of the veterans on the team and really fit in.  Like he's trying a bit too hard to prove to his teammates that he is unselfish and that he isn't just a shooter/chucker.

He showed signs of this in the preseason too - when the vets were in he barely took a shot.  Then as soon as they sat down and the bench came in he seemed to play more instinctively, not overthinking things as much.

Even wit the second unit in though, he still seemed to defer quite a bit.  Until it got to the point where the second unit couldn't score and desperately needed buckets, at which point he'd just step up and take over.

This is why I think it's going to take him a month or two to really adjust and to gain enough confidence to the point where he's playing on instinct and just being who he is, rather then trying to overthinking.

When he learns to let go and play free, consistently, he is going to be a beast.

Note  ;) the focus on overreaction.

We can't close games out and our starters lack focus!

Jonathan Simmons and Justin Hamilton are legit studs.

Golden State mega team is a failure.

Lakers are awesome! (ugghh, that hurts to type even in jest...they do look spunky though)

Gerald looks primed for another Dunk Contest.

Yup

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Joel Embid and Karl Towns are the real deal.
Legitimate hall of famers in the making.

Davis was disappointing last year. Injuries had a lot to do with it but Davis needs to cement his HOF potential.

I think Embiid can be better than both Towns and Davis. Embiid and Towns are good in the post, Davis scores based on his athleticism. Also Embiid looks like a better defender than both of them. I've been disappointed in the Pelicans overall defense as a team historically. Maybe its the organization, but I've read from Lowe that Davis makes mistakes on that end.

Also, Julius Randle looks good. It's one game, but he had a good year last year as well....
