Maybe Casspi. as a replacement for Jerebko.
Good 3 point shooter, should be affordable. looks like he is losing his minutes at the Kings.

Cousins is incredibly frustrating.

He's so [dang] good at basketball but he's still immature. In the game against Phoenix, the Kings were up and Cousins took a foul from Devin Booker. It was really minor but for some reason Cousins felt the need to try and intimidate and shove Booker after the whistle. Why? I was struck by how much I still don't want that guy in the locker room of my team.

Blake Griffin has put together a few really solid games.

22.5 PPG, 11.5 RPG through 2 games (yes way too early.. but his career averages are around the same numbers as well).

If we can't trade for Cousins, I hope we can nab Griffin in the off season (not Hayward)

I'd love to get Griffin here but I'd be surprised to see him leave LA. He sees to really like being involved in acting and things like that.

Really? I didn't know that. I honestly thought the biggest threat to take Griffin away was OKC.

OKC is his hometown, and the way the Thunder are currently constructed... add Griffin to that mix and suddenly even without KD, OKC are in the level of San Antonio and Golden State.

Maybe he does stay in LAC but another disappointing postseason run could really change that, especially if CP3 ultimately leaves as well.

Watching the Clippers last night you couldn't help but think the Clippers have kind of matched out their potential. I may make a separate thread about them

Looking at Griffin though, he would be such a perfect fit here and I actually think he would thread the needle for us unlike Hayward.

Nifty passer, can rebound extremely well, and good interior post-presence. Can average double-double figures as well. And don't be fooled, he can score, and all of what's listed here is a "big need" for us.

Idk where Boston is on Griffin's list but IF (big if) he opts-out and decides to officially leave the Clippers, but I'm guessing Griffin becomes the "KD-saga of last summer"... unless of course the Warriors actually decide against keeping KD and they don't win the finals this season.

Blake Griffin is balling and is averaging around 20/10.

Too bad the Clippers are 10-1  :-\

Two guys that many people might have gone over but they intrigue me.

Gortat...

11 points
12 rebounds
1.6 blocks

I know he'd make the cap interesting and his age is getting up there but it would be nice to have a rebounding big down low.

Faried...
8.5 points
9.4 rebounds
1.3 blocks
in under 25 minutes

Similar contract to gortat and doesn't have much range but his motor is relentless, wouldn't mind him in the Amir spot.

The thing is, while both are great players, they aren't players who push us into contention like Griffin or Cousins would.

I feel like Faried wouldn't fit well into this system, and while I'd hope Amir + filler could actually get us Faried... I feel like Denver would actually want back a lot more to trade him.

As for Gortat (and Faried as well if you think about it), adding either limits the C's cap space for next season, so then even if a max-guy became available, the C's couldn't get him.

Ainge already came out and said he didn't extend KO (yet) because he wants to keep a max-slot open during the next off-season. I think Ainge is looking at Hayward or Griffin for next season (though I SERIOUSLY hope they don't get Hayward, doesn't thread the needle for us and people here can deny it, but this team needs a BIG who can score/rebound, because Horford alone doesn't cut it).

Time to end the Griffin-to-Boston dream.

He loves LA and I don't see him leaving anymore especially after the start the Clippers have had.

Guess it means more the likes of Hayward and Ibaka now...  :-\

And Ibaka hasn't looked good in Orlando. He's also not a strong rebounder, which means he doesn't exactly fill a big hole the C's will be looking to fill. Free agency might not be the basket to be putting our eggs in right now.

If the Jazz don't improve at all from last year I could easily see us landing Hayward in the offseason. The real question is does he put us over the hump? If we land Cousins than I would say yes, but with just the addition of Hayward I still don't see us leaving the ECF.

OOOO that starting lineup of

PG: Isaiah Thomas
SG: Avery Bradley
SF: Gordon Hayward
PF: Demarcus Cousins
C: Al Horford

Lordy, lordy
