I said no simply because realistically it would take more than that to get him but if that is all they are asking then you gotta pull the trigger.

Would give us 2 great bigs that can score while keeping most of our rotation in tact

Horford-Zeller
Lamarcus-Olynk
Crowder-Brown
Bradley=Green
Thomas-Smart

Still leaves guys like Mickey, Young and Jackson for emergency depth plus our overseas stashed players waiting for a chance

Absolutely the C's do this. Versatility, defense and spacing through the roof while still being one of the deepest teams in the league! We will beat Cleveland with this lineup.

Horford/LMA/Crowder/Bradley/IT

with

Rozier/Smart/Brown/Olynyk off the bench. My goodness...

Not saying I am a cap expert ...I got 89 mil picking up the options on MS, TR and JY and if KO signs for the QO which is doubtful.

Also don't think we pick up Youngs option but, KO's actual hold would still make up the difference back to 89 mil.
This would also mean waiving TZ, DJ, and JM and doesn't include our draft pick, so right around 95 mil with that, leaving 7-8 mil under the projected cap

What are you using as a reference bud?

This one is one of the better ones... http://www.basketballinsiders.com/boston-celtics-team-salary/

Exactly what I used, you realize that this would include LMA

Edit: Bud

Aldridge is 31, after this season probably has 3 more (at best) all-star level seasons left.

You would trade a top 3 pick in a loaded  draft and a kid that could be a potential 14 year all-star, for 3 good seasons of LMA?

I would rather keep the pick and use Amir's salary on a Free agent personally.

The risk/reward isn't high enough and the window of prosperity too short for LMA

You need to add Zizic and Yabusele cap holds as well

While they are currently employed overseas, they don't but, if you would like to add them

Yabu 2,360,250

Zizic 1,727,850

Edit: imo we will bring Zizic over but not Yabu

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

They would count against next year's cap until the first game of the season or they signed a letter to the league saying that they would not be coming over (which is extremely unlikely).  In the event that they did sign such a letter, they would be replaced by a minimum salary slot (since you need a minimum of 12 spots accounted for on the roster)

It has an important effect on the payroll as far as cap space goes

If a first round pick signs with a non-NBA team, his scale amount is excluded from the team salary on the date he signs his non-NBA contract or the first day of the regular season, whichever is later. The scale amount goes back onto the team salary on the following July 1 or when his non-NBA contract ends, whichever is earlier. In other words, these cap holds are removed for players playing outside the NBA, but only during the regular season.

I think LMA should be 21, 610, 010 which would add 3M to the available cap space.

Trading for Cousins makes a lot more sense than trading for LMA.  Cousins is a better player and 5 years younger.  I also think he creates a bigger mismatch against the Cavs and GSW.  His salary is 3M less and the trade would almost certainly include the 2017 1st and one of JB or MS and I'd tried to include JY.  This should give us slightly more than 20M in cap space next offseason.

As previously stated I said that if they are already signed by another team they do not count against the cap
