Lol.  Thought I'd grow out of it, but haven't -- convinced 'fandom' is an inherited, irrational, life-long condition for some.  But, no less great for it.

Kelly has shown some flashes. Maybe they signed him just to get him to the D-League? (I'm not sure on the exact specifics of that rule.)

Final three cuts can go to the d-league, so could be.

Or perhaps there is a slightly larger trade in the works that will leave us with an open roster spot.  I know what I'm hoping for.

Seems likely that it's a way to get him to the D-League and give him more guaranteed money. But for now #Boogie2BostonConfirmed

Watching his highlights, I think he would fit nicely with Brad's schemes. Kinda like a poor man's KO if ever. What's there to lose if he wears green? He couldn't be possibly worse than Zeller right now.

The guy seems to step in in final stretches and hustle his butt. Something I don't see on Zeller.

He gives us depth if something happens.  Reading the front page here just sounds like he will play in Maine and Bentil wouldn't.  He fits into our system as a stretch 4.  He probably will not play until something happens whether it's a trade or loads of injury or Mickey has to go down or something.

I'm amazed how fast the celtics made this move. They obviously watch the wire and just knew bentil  was a cut.

true. and it also means that ainge may very well consider ryan kelly to be better than bentil. if so, it may be time for the board to rethink our bentil-expectations.

Would have liked Jameel Warney for the Dleague. Had a ankle injury going into camp and didn't make the cut for the Mavs. He had a decent SL and game one preseason. Kind of like a Milsap type PF. Really worth the risk considering what the team currently has for PFs.
