I think Danny may be confused by this whole cutting down thing. Very weird move.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Kelly has shown some flashes. Maybe they signed him just to get him to the D-League? (I'm not sure on the exact specifics of that rule.)

Trade coming?

Kelly is an Olynyk lite. One good skill makes him a solid end of bench player. Gives us anothe big man shooter.

Final three cuts can go to the d-league, so could be.

Or perhaps there is a slightly larger trade in the works that will leave us with an open roster spot.  I know what I'm hoping for.

Looks like a Red Claws signing sense they missed out on Bentil? Very Strange.

Quote
Kelly appeared in seven games (all starts) during the 2015-16 season for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League while on assignment from the Lakers and averaged 27.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists while shooting 52.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three.

Guess we wanted a stretch 4 Kelly on the bench to start the season  :D

I really have no idea why we did this but Danny's good at juggling transactions. We'll see where he goes with this.

Seems likely that it's a way to get him to the D-League and give him more guaranteed money. But for now #Boogie2BostonConfirmed

A "D-league expert" agrees.

"The Celtics signing Ryan Kelly likely means he will be playing in Maine as affiliate player."
