isaiah says he can shoot, isaiah says they had chemistry
green on new team and out for a couple games with hip pointer
he is a win now shooter, that has proven himself  against nba first teams
he is quicker ,more athletic and plays better d-
young is sooo bad on defense but has the frame, age and shot well over a season with the red claws
so as much a fan of rj-i would be tempted to go with young now-
the celts deserve a knock down shooter thats not a liability

green is a rental that will be around for no more than a year.  He is looking to become more than a  minimum salary player.  He will look to get 8+ after the season if he plays well enough to be used by CBS

RJ and Young outplayed Green in the preseason.
And they are younger.
Waive Green.

That's so wrong. Green isn't even in the conversation for being cut

Rollie, you seem to have an obsession with Green.  He's a borderline rotation player on a good team and he's a ballhog.  I'd be much more optimistic about him if he were 20 years old, but he is what he is, and that's a little bit better than Young and Hunter.

If you're including mistakes, RJ and Young did not play better than Green. A lot of times Green was the only one on the floor in correct position or making something happen with the ball. He just didn't shoot well.

He's not going to lead a second unit. But he's going to be good mixed in with first unit guys.

Young and RJ won't even play if they're on the team. I don't think the potential of either is enough to cut Green.

i have fondness for guys that can jump out of the gym, tall  are good in transition and
can score  all for only cost 1.3 mill
-young is sooo bad on defense and rj needs to hit his shots-
i think green will help win some games now

just finished an article and it gave how much time green had missed of training camp and then how rusty he was and getting game legs
moiso thinks i have an obsession with green- i countered with a fondness for people that are uber athletic, can hit a three and get to hoop
all that stuff about james young and rj was getting to me
green has 10yrs nba experience, can get to spots and create-
he may be 30 but a young 30
my memory is filled with james youngs slowness bringing ball up ,or how he bulldozes a guy on a break because he has no right hand ,then the back door cuts and two guys getting behind him for easy layups
then there are greens pull ups bang, assists and euro step even after being hit but having enough lift to finish shot

i think green was a steal at vets minimum and i am not alone in thinking
he is a weapon or as brad says scary in how quickly he can put points on board
the celts needed athleticism and speed -do young and rj fit that

lets say down 15,you need a scorer,a shooter that can put on points quick
remember marcus thorton-he did a good job-that will be greens job
green can be mixed in with both first and second team-
young and rj would get exploited
young could fill out further and become a player,rj and his physique and they both lack speed

so green is a no brainer to help win games now
-could you with a straight face say you could trust young or rj against real nba talent-

Unfortunately, that's not happening. He's already reported to have made the team.

I think it is more likely that both Young and Hunter get cut and we keep Kelly then we cut Green.  Or maybe we trade one and cut one, who knows.  I am sure Danny is trying to pull off a trade but who cares.  Is trading Young and Hunter for protected 2nd round picks in 2020 really any different than cutting them (other than the money).  The 2nd round picks won't help the team now or in the future (barring a really lucky pick).  All it would do is save the owners some money.

I am disappointed because Young is probably going to hang around the NBA for a while and eventually find a role (Hunter not so much).  Young may have a career not so different than Green which means in 5 years he develops into a reliable bench player.  We just don't have any way to allow either to hang around on the roster, might as well cut bait on both.  Green will have a role this season, Young and Hunter will not.

His first game back was nice, but certain moments in some games he was going to shoot out us out it but brad knew and got someone else the ball.

Actually, this might have been said about turner when he joined the Celtics as well.

I have reservations about green. But I also am curious as to whether CBS can work his magic with green as he did turner. It might be fun to watch.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

RJ or Young could possibly have a higher ceiling than Green, but to say those 2 are better than Green (right now) is just absurd.

Green is already passed by Jaylen Young. I don't need Green around. He's a jag
