Geeze, another major hit to Noel's trade value. He just had knee surgery and is out for some time.

Trade value aside I do feel pretty bad for this guy. He may be in danger of getting labeled as injury prone given he has had numerous injuries including one really serious one. My interest in him may be decreasing unless it as a rental. Hard to think about giving him big money.

Yep. I really wanted him around the draft, but I'm much less inclined now. Plus, after watching us this preseason, I'm not sure how much more he could really help us defensively. We're already going to be an elite defensive team without Noel, so I'm not sure if spending assets on him is really worth it. I'd rather we wait and gamble with a Cousins trade than take on Noel at this point.

How long will the surgery keep him out?  I still say Noel for Jordan clarkson makes sense and Clarkson can't be traded until dec 15.
Sounds like a relatively minor procedure.  Wouldn't be surprised if he's back in a couple months.

On the plus side for them, Okafor is back and it looks like he's lost 20 lbs.

Not sure if he's he lost more weight this off-season or is still more lost on defense. Yikes.

It doesn't help that your guards are so poor on defense.   Okafor has a hard enough time guarding his own man without having to help on theirs too.

McConnell is passable. Rodriguez is terrible. Stauskas prolly doesn't belong on an NBA roster.

I assume based on his history Bayless will be bad too. Still, with a decent anchor back there we're fine. Embiid has lead a competent overall defense, in the sense that everybody else tears his defensive greatness down to slightly above avg. A lot like Noel in that way actually.

I still think he'd be valuable as a kind of player we don't have right now. If his value really is in the tank and we could trade 2 or even 3 guys who aren't going to be part of the rotation to bring him in, it would probably worth it to have someone who can do what he does on the roster.
