I don't know if people are saying they weren't equal talents. I think people are saying they weren't equal players.

Isn't it true that in 1965 the Warriors tried to shop Wilt, so the owner of the Lakers had his players vote on it and they voted 9-2 against?

Wilt people will always have a tougher hill to climb than the Russell people.  The rings will always ensure that.

Shaq and MJ were the most dominating players of my generation. No other players come close. It always felt that it would take a miracle to beat their teams.

I was too young to know much about Bird and Magic.

No idea, but that wouldn't surprise me as Wilt had a bit of reputation of being a problem (though most of his coaches and teammates spoke very highly of him).  Of course he ended up in LA and was a large part of LA winning its first title since moving from Minnesota, so there is that.
