I know next to nothing about how these things work but I'm curious - how long is the Adriatic League season? There's no chance of him coming over this year is there? He looks so good, I want him in green NOW :P

So those highlights vs. MZT are from game 4 of the season.

It looks like the ABA season runs to 26 games plus playoffs. My understanding is that the players then often go back to their national club competitions (e.g. in Serbia, Crotia etc.)Wont be the case for our man Zizic, I would say.

Here is the ABA calendar, running through mid-April.

Recently posted about wanting to trade for Yusuf Nurkic but if Zizic is doing this well, would absolutely be willing to wait to see what he can bring us.

What are they putting in the water over there in the Adriatic league? Land of giants.

I like what i saw from the highlights. over the course of this season over there, I also want to see him work on a little bit of a post game. right now most of his baskets are either transition dunks or pick and roll finishes, which is great! but adding like a post hook or  backing down defenders in the paint would also be good to have from him. those are some moves that Zubac (another croatian center that the lakers picked) has in his arsenal. hopefully our guy can develop some moves too, and ultimately end up better than the Lakers pick.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

To me he looks like he rolls to the hoop and runs the floor like Zeller.  But he is more of a banger on the boards and is more defensive minded.  If he develops more touch and a jumper he will be a problem.

Pretty good critique. I think your spot on. Tough to not like this pick.

Pretty darn good skilled big man for 19

Agree with all of the above.. I think at this stage we can rest easy knowing his activity level is through the roof. He wants the ball, ready to catch and make a play whenever his name is called for Cibona.

For me so far his most impressive attribute has been his ability to switch on the pick-and-roll. These may only be guards in the Adriatic League but he's still moving his feet in time with the drive and finishing the play with a surefire block without fouling.

So far I'd say his ceiling is Joakim Noah with greater finishing but less passing. That player is clearly a candidate for our starting center position but should also be able to compete the moment he laces up for Boston.

looks good. high energy big guy. does anyone know how good that league is? compared to other european leagues?

Im far from an expert, but my understanding is that the Adriatic Basketball Association is considered just a step below the Spanish League, as the best in Europe (if not the world outside the US)....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABA_League

Edit: I'll stand corrected. Lots of internet debate on this with Turkish and Greek league ranking, along with the europe-wide Euro-League/ Euro Cup.

acb is much better league than adriatic. so is the turkish league. i d rank the russian league also higher .but it is a decent league with a couple of good teams many good young players  but no euroleague contenders. i d take his stats with a grain of salt but if ha can dominate there he can find a spot in the nba
