I’ve been toying around with some ideas for a fairly simple and fun “keeper” system.  We’d fill out 5 man rosters and then conduct pre-season, mid-season and end of season polls on a variety of superlative (TBD if there’s any interest in this).

The basic idea:

- Each team starts with $1000 to fill a 5-man roster via auction before the season.  A player’s winning bid amount would become their salary for a one-year contract with owner’s option re-sign (more on that later).

- Total team salary could never exceed a $1000 cap.

- Teams could make in season pick ups by opening a player up for bidding.  To make room for the new player they’d have to cut an existing player from their roster, but would still be responsible for 20% of the cut player’s salary towards the cap for the remainder of the season.

- Trades would have to be within compliance of the cap.

- Before next season, teams would be able to pick up players options by adding the greater of 20% or $20 to players’ salaries.

- Players who aren’t resigned would re-enter the auction pool.

If there is any interest, questions or suggestions; inquire within!   I’ll explain the auction process if there is enough interest in doing this.
