Rozier coming in on cue from the recent hype. If he and Smart can actually shoot like this during the season... look out.

Of the guys fighting for a roster spot, Young actually looked the best.

Jaylen Brown definitely has star potential. I hope he keeps working and getting pushed by the vets. Highest ceiling on the team, but it will take time to put it all together.

Most celtics site and people I've talked to said Young looked good. Did he? I didn't see anything different personally, although I might have missed some stuff due to the lag on the site.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

wished I had seen the game but it would be great if Young put it together this year.  figured he wouldn't show anything until his 3rd year.  this is the time he needs to show something.

takeaways:

smaht and roze look beast mode

young vs rj not much going on but young looks better right now and he rbs. also apparently young has stood out in practice. danny said he made all his shots in practice yesterday.

jaylen is fast and agile. needs to work on D.

Z is still meh

mickey is meh

that camp invite looks solid (hunt I think)

danny said djay is gonna get time in maine so i guess that means hes in?

love the bench making the starters work, can only make them gel faster and make them better.

bentil is not good.

i cant remember much more. good night for work, i enjoyed it!

Nice summary.  Seems odd that they even need camp invites with 16 contracts in place.  They can play 5-on-5 and still have 3 bench players each.
Teams don't even want to involve vets in some stuff.

Considering teams always fill up for training camp, it doesn't seem odd to me.

Yeah, Horford, Bradley and IT were probably going half speed so you have to take their performance with a grain of salt. Rozier and Smart and Brown looked super legit though and I wouldn't be surprised if our second unit is one of the best in the league this year. If JB can improve finishing around the rim, he'll be a terror scorer.

Good is a relative term. He had a couple of good plays that didn't involve him shooting the ball (which is a good sign). He looked better than he has in the past in short minutes and better than Hunter or Bentil.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
anyone know where we can watch this on replay?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I just looked on youtube and went to the stream but can't find it.  We have a lot of talent. Wouldn't be surprised if young makes it over hunter.  Smart, Terry, and Brown are all legit.  That's a ridiculous bench trio.  Our bench may need a nickname this year.

Thing is Hunter has talent too.  It's tough having to cut someone this year. I'm ok letting Bentil loose but Hunter and Young is a toughy.  Hopefully one or the other ends up in the d-league.  We don't have a bad player on our roster.

man, all this scrimmage i keep thinking, zeller is horrible on defense. looks in glue.

He's a third stringer. Only ahead of Mickey as injury depth for the bigs.

I think Rozier, KO, Smart & Jaylen are going to embarrass a lot of second units this year.  KO and Jaylen in particular should be abusing some of the bad defenders out there.  KO has always struck me as a 6th man who can unleash his arsenal on the other team's bench, sort of like a dorky Odom.

If those guys all come on well, they could be four starters, with Al, on the C's next championship team.

Right now he is probably the age most guys used to enter the NBA only Brown is younger on the team.
