Reminiscent of Paul Pierce as he got deeper into his career. Was a typical young player when he started out, relied mostly on talent and had a typical young player's lifestyle off the court. Listen to his interviews in recent years, and he mentions that he had to change that lifestyle completely as he got older to keep playing at a high level.
Maybe this is what ends up differentiating IT from Allen Iverson, another tiny scoring guard who fell off a cliff later in his career. I hope so.
I hope so, too.
And I've heard similar stories about Robert Parish and Steve Nash (and Tom Brady, actually). As guys get older, the smart ones start taking better care of themselves to make themselves more effective and elongate their careers.
