Wade is hearkening back to a time when Rondo played his best ball on a really good Celtics team.  Rondo will be more exposed on the Bulls and I expect much of the same play that we saw in Dallas and Sac.  Rondo will combine exceptional open court passing with frustrating ball dominance along with the same old sagging off him defense that disrupts set offense flow.

Unless of course this is the year that he shoots well enough that defenses have to respect his shot.

So Rondo isn't a good point guard now?

He has is flaws but the guy was pretty good at setting guys up for easy baskets last I checked.

Some of you guys are ridiculous.
in a league where you have to make shots, he is no where near top 10 pg, and was vastly overrated for all of his carer if you ask me

Let's not forget that Rondo led the league in assists for the third time last season. He's still got that visions, those hands, and that athleticism that made him so dynamic in Boston.

In fairness outside of the Olympics and ASG Wade hasn't played with very good PGs.  The Ghost of Gary Payton or the Legend of Mario Chalmers had to be #1 prior to this.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Dragic last year, but his game wasn't a great fit with Wade.

Williams was a pretty darn good PG and a great fit next to Wade.  People always forget about White Chocolate.

Of course.

I wish him, Wade and Butler the best - just not against us.

Go ahead and beat up NY, TOR, CLE and Indy for us, CHI.

I remembered him, I just thought he was in his last legs phase like Payton + Mike Bibby.

Looks like he averaged about 11-12 + 5 with decent shooting percentages and average advanced stats.  Not overwhelming but the advanced stats at least probably look better than Rondo lately.

Yeah that is what he was most of his career, but he still played about 32 mpg the title season and started over Payton for a reason.

I think he may have been overrated in Boston, but not on the national scene. I'm pretty sure people in CA didn't think that he was better than Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, etc.

For a couple years, Rondo was a dominant force in the playoffs. He fit his purpose as a young pg on a talented veteran team that won a championship. He couldn't lead the Celtics to the promised land by himself. Oh well. We will see if Westbrook can do that this year, and if not, then people will call him overrated.

Rondo's kind of actively bad at this point, though.  He hasn't helped a team win in multiple seasons.
