Danny should make a play for Noel now before Embiid blows his knee out or our trade bait gets injured.

Remember, Ainge can't trade for Noel without REALLY hurting his chances for a big time FA next summer, assuming the idea is you resign Noel.

You'd have to trade one of Amir, Zeller or Bradley to clear up the kind of space Danny wants to have, plus a few additional assets to get PHI to agree.

Something like Amir, Young and Rozier would probably work for them, but I'm not so sure DA is looking to lose an asset of even Roziers caliber to pay Noel 18$M a year.

Still, Noel has to get out of that place. It's tanking his value

Well, Amir only has one year left, and Zeller has a team option next year, meaning neither of those are really impeding us from getting a free agent next year. Though I do think that Danny will try to re-sign Amir as a backup for us.

I also don't think that we're really in play for the big FA's next year. Maybe Griffin, but unless something catastrophic happens in GS, Curry and KD will stay there. Most of the other big ones are restricted and pretty much out of reach, leaving just Hayward. Call me crazy, but I'd rather have Noel now and pay him next year than to pay Hayward next year.

What actually could be holding up a Noel deal would be the potential of a superstar trade this season, especially at the big position. Cousins, Love, Milsap, etc. are stars that could hit the trade block this season, let alone someone like Butler. I also think Klay Thompson will be the fall guy in GS if they don't happen to gel well. Would love to upgrade from Bradley with Thompson, who'd certainly help out our scoring and shooting deficiencies.

I'm not convinced we can get a top FA that will take us over the top. With the Nets picks I'm more of the believe that we can build through the draft. Saying that I would trade Smart for Noel now, get our young center and plan on drafting a PG with the Nets pick this year. We would have some excellent building blocks:

Noel
Brown
rookie PG
another Nets pick

All at the same time working the cap well rotating older players out with the young guys that come up but still keeping a good mix of veterans and young players.

If Danny wants Noel, he should wait until the summer and sign him.  Scuttlebutt is that Nerlens, a native of Malden, would love to join the Celts.

If they have to many bigs why would they want KO?

If it becomes more more toxic it may just mean KO for Noel straight up. At least KO can shoot and would be able to play along embiid pretty comfortably. Without knowing what Saric can do they may not want KO though.

Shooting and passing big man to play along side and space floor for Simmons. Embid can replace Noel's defense if healthy. KO gives them a different type of center.

Yeah, they would fall out of the chair laughing if we offered them KO for Noel.

Regardless they have to many big men, so taking one back makes zero sense. Let me put it this way if you're a couple and are planning on having kids and you own 3 cars that are all 2 doors. You don't trade one of them in for a 2 door sports car you trade in for a minivan!

If they play Olynyk over Okafor, they can upgrade both their offense and their defense.

They don't have too many big men; they have too many big men who can't be on the floor at the same time.  It's like only your wife can drive stick but all three of your cars have a manual transmission.  You don't trade one in for a fancy, foreign sports car; you get something with an automatic.

Assuming no major improvements from Jahlil(a large assumption for a 20 year old rookie with his talent and gifts) This would absolutely be the case. Kelly's shooting, passing, and inteligence on both sides of the ball, would help the 76ers win games this year. But it would be a tremendously stupid decision for the franchise.
