I think his most underrated quality is probably the one that is most mentioned as his strength, his physical ability and size.  I think he is built like a superstar that is just raw and most of those guys turn into superstars.  Why I've always liked him when other players were getting rated higher. Most stuff has been mentioned but he has a good feel for the game and plays smart.  I think his feel for the game is excellent. He's just raw. He'll also be a good shooter the more he works at it.

I don't konw how to explain that some players get hyped for their physical ability and end up being duds in the nba where I don't really buy it.  Brown is not that. There are players this draft that probably are that.

Brown is a good basketball player and is just raw.  It's that head on his shoulders to go with it.

He's also very versatile and can play offense and defense and multiple positions.  He could even play pg if he wanted to as he develops. He has length but also has the quickness and vision to handle the ball.

I think that's his most underrated quality as well is there is not much he can't do. What is his weakness besides he's just raw?  Obviously shootinig but that will come.

TP

I agree. He is very powerful - when you combine that with his speed, it gives him a very high ceiling. He has a near-perfect NBA body (IMO as close to Lebron-level as anyone in the league).

I thought it was weird that so many people hated the pick, and were then subsequently surprised by his handle, strength, and slashing ability. Those were clearly exceptional strengths, and are likely to translate.

The question is whether his court vision and jump shooting improve enough to reach his potential. Thankfully, that stuff often develops later on. You can teach shooting and ball movement - you can't teach size, athleticism, and strength.

And that's why he's such an exciting prospect, his flaws are all fixable.

He's like the opposite of Larry Bird. Bird could play point or center if he wanted to but in a different way.  Intelligent and skilled but in a different way.  Big dude but not athletic in the same way.  Both can play all over the place.  Bird was a supreme shooter.  Brown needs to work on that.

Thing is Bird was really good. I think Jaylen will be too because of his versatility. He fits stevens well. Totally different players but similar.

jaylen will get it done because of his athleticism and mindset to run the floor and get to the free throw line. Both versatile.  Both intelligent but in different ways.

Bird was taller and would play with grit on defense.  Jaylen is shorter but can jump higher and will rely on his physicality.  Both smart. Both play to their strengths.

I think so.  Stevens really liked Turner.  I think Jaylen can block shots and is a much more physical freak. He had Hayward at Butler and Turner here and I think Jaylen is the next guy like that for Stevns.  I hope at least.

His ability to get past defenders is a little underrated his crossover has got much better and he is good at using the spin move. I look forward to seeing him play in space and without 1 or 2 guys in the paint at all times like it was at cal. He really got better everygame during SL and became more adjusted to the NBA spacing, i look forward to seeing him in preseason and what hes added to his game as he makes what i imagine a slow progression throughout the year touch-wood there is no injuries.

Guy seems like Andre Iguodala, but with a little more offensive potential. His shot does not look broken. His handle is not broken. He will need to improve both, but he's only 19.

Defensively, JB looks like he can play already. I'm psyched to see what type of player he will be 3-4 years from now.

I love the way this team could potentially look a couple years from now:

Rozier, IT (if he signs)
Smart, Bradley
Jaylen Brown, Crowder
Harry Giles, Olynyk
Al Horford, DeAndre Ayton (C in 18 draft)

I think this team is crazy athletic. Could use a shooter or two, but this would be wildly exciting to watch.
