Seattle really helped Danny dodge a bullet there.

very interested read about an interesting human being. tp for the link to the story.

i wish him much luck and good fortune in his future.

bringing this back to the celticsblog stuff, based on the article there is no way to see whether or not swift still has the ability to play in the nba. i would not be surprised is ainge were to bring him  into pre season training camp, just to take another look.

ainge often follows players winds up getting them later in their career.

Sorry to hear about his demons, here's to hoping he can make a comeback.

I don't believe Ainge ever had interest in Swift, I think it was all a smokescreen.  Can't imagine he is interested now either.

Thanks JSD for shaing a really interesting read. Really hoping he can keep workign to get his life back on track.

Seattle really helped Danny dodge a bullet there.

Well given the sucess BOS had with Perk, Big Al and Gerald Green, I think he'd have had a much stronger team support system. And BOS wouldn't have relocated to OKC.

Many things would have been different -- can't say better or worse, just different.

You can also see just how fragile an NBA career is... if he doesn't blow out his knee isn't his career totally different? Not saying a hall of famer, but isn't there a decent chance he carves out a Kwame Brown 10-years non-superstar level?

Great Timmy anecdote, among other things.

That anecdote of Duncan walking the rookie through a play brought tears to my eyes.

What a stellar human being.

Great read.

I think he sounds like a dude who needs basketball a lot more than basketball needs him.  But I wish him the best in getting his life back on track.

I wish him the best, but the chances of anybody coming back to the NBA after a gap of seven years are slim. Couple that with his drug issues and the fact that he was never very good to begin with. I can't imagine he'll ever suit up again.
