Prior to being drafted this was the scouting report on him
Strength
- Leadership
- Motor
- Good footwork
- Strength
- Good rebounder
- Ball handling and passing skills for PF
- High IQ
- Decent shooting form for a PF
Weakness
- Senior
- Undersized (6'7)
- A tad overweight
- And due to this extra weight - lacks explosiveness, quickness
- concerns regarding ability to defend out to the perimeter at the NBA level
- concerns regarding ability to defend taller players from the post
- Tweener?
Once Green was able to shed weight while also retaining his strength, several weaknesses were not considered weaknesses anymore. And due to his strength, is able to hold off/guard taller players down low. And due to his hard work/IQ has improved an aspect of his game year after year (example shooting)
So did 30 teams initially screw up? or has Green just overachieved like no player since Rodman?
Are teams today not wanting to miss the next "Green" over reaching for such player?
