I saw that.  Very sad -- he was truly one of the best at what he did on air, and from everything I've heard, he was a great person when away from the microphone too.

Crappy news.

One of the very few stand up ESPN/ABC personalities.  He was a staple of college football for years and was flawless in taking the torch from Dick Shaap on Sports Reporters.  Definitely sad to hear.
