Classic trade offer thought up to make the Cavs more interesting, not really taking into consideration what it'd mean for the Celts.

The Celts could not, at this point in the offseason, trade away their only experienced wing not named Gerald Green.  Can't do it.

People need to stop linking to that site.  For real, you're only encouraging them by giving them clickthroughs.

We could definitely use another combo guard.

Yes let's trade the meager talent we have on the wing to add another big under 6'11''

Obviously losing Crowder is not ideal, but Love is a significantly better player than Crowder and Love clearly fixes 2 of the holes on the team i.e. rebounding and scoring.  Love is also an excellent passing big man.  Smart and Jerekbo are role players on the bench.

EDIT:  I could also see that trade including JR Smith in a sign and trade to help fill the SF void.

So Love and Smith (12 million or so) for Johnson, Jerekbo, Crowder, and Smart

Post-Trade Boston is
PG - Thomas, Rozier, Jackson
SG - Bradley, Green, Hunter
SF - Smith, Brown, Young/Nadel
PF - Love, Olynyk, Mickey, Bentil
C - Horford, Zeller

That puts Boston as the clear #2 team in the East something they are not now.

Any trade with cavs has to make them worse by a good margin and is better by a good margin. Otherwise we can't beat them in a series. For this reason alone I can't understand people wanting Love when he may as well be s bench player for them and just 1 defensive guard would make them better. I'll never get it.

Ainge had to really believe he's fleecing them while cavs gm has to be confident that's far from the case.

I really don't want Love. He is going to age like a drunk.

That puts Boston as the clear #2 team in the East something they are not now.

I don't think it really improves their chances of getting out of the East, though, and it probably precludes the possibility of signing a max free agent next summer, so what's the point?

  • That's turrible
No trading any of our core guys unless its for a talent like Westbrook or Boogie. I do not want to give up any of our toughness for someone with a rather weak mental make up.
