For those who haven't seen the kids in the 2017 class, there are numerous can't-miss, cornerstone type players and possibly a couple of generational guys.

Josh Jackson
6'8" with guard skills, highlight reel on both sides of the court
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzZ0VI-Fp6M

Harry Giles
6'10" PF, KG in the making?  Already had a couple knee surgeries*
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fASlnqiguKo

Jayson Tatum
6'8" F that can flat out score.  Adrian Dantley adapted for modern play.

Markelle Fultz
6'5" PG with polish and hops

And this is just the beginning.  8-10 legit prospects at the top and the BKN pick is nearly a lock to be top 4.

Yes there are great prospects in the top 10, but after this draft I'm not trusting Ainge with drafting. I like Brown, but I don't believe he becomes better than either Dunn or Murray. Dunn was the pick regardless of fit because he's even shown that he can play SG with Tyus Young in SL. Just unbelievable. I'd rather have Cousins or Griffin rather than another Ainge question mark.

Last year at this time Skal Labissierre was a can't miss prospect.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

There's several very good prospects, but right now nobody who looks like a Simmons or a Towns. My favorite of the bunch might actually be Frank Ntilinka, a big athletic PG with endless length and sick handles.

According to who?  Always viewed him as a project.

TP. You take an MVP-level talent in Cousins, which I think he surely is in a winning situation, any day over potential talent that may or may not reach that level.

I think that with the Nets doing absolutely nothing good this off season, that the trade value of that pick is sky high across the league and we might be able to get away with just trading that pick for a current young superstar, thereby keeping the 2018 Nets pick and still being able to infuse this team with top tier youth.

Nets look like a lock for bottom 2 in the league. Maybe we only have to send the 2017 pick out in a Boogie trade, along with the needed salary filler and youth Sacramento would want

How old is dunn? Vs brown

Murray has struggled. He will never be a good defender

Just hold on

every year the BKL pick is said to be untouchable.
so far, we're 0-2 the way this Brown kid is projecting.  with Ainge jr. running our scouting dept, we are on the path for serious regret in a few years if we don't make fair offer sooner or later for a stud.

time for Danny to stop throwing his pitches into the dirt...

Don't get me wrong, I'd trade the pick for Boogie.  It's nearly untouchable.

Skal Labisierre isn't in the same category as Tatum or Jackson, IMO.  Not even close.  That's my point.  The pick has a high likelihood of yielding a cornerstone guy.  As high as a draft pick can have.

Lol.  What's wrong with Brown now?!  He's lived at the FT line during Summer League.  He's 19, smart and extremely aggressive.  Looks great IMO.

but this happens literally every year.

Wall was suppose to be the next Westbrook.  Then Wiggins the next Jordan.  Then Davis the next Wilt.  Then Simmons the next Lebron.

Then we see them play some more, and the bottom of the paper bag falls apart...

TP.

One bust, one bricklayer - thus far.

Time to get something of real value from those picks, instead of Danny and his kid trying to prove they know something everyone else doesn't.

I'm sure he'll have a fine NBA career, maybe even be a regular starter.  But I see a wing who can't really shoot very well, has subpar handles, and isn't able to finish at the rim against professionals.  That's a lot of warts to overcome to be, in his words, 'a top 5 player in the league'
