Personally I would rather build around Porzingis, but it would be a very Knicks move to mortgage the future and get Russell.

Secondly, this might be the only city not in Los Angeles that could convince Russ to stay.

edit: the idea for this post is centered around the trading porzingis for westbrook

Good thought. I don't think Westbrook and Rose can coexist, which means any package out has to include Rose.

The problem is that because they traded for Rose, although they can trade him, they cannot include anyone else in the deal. Which means it would have to be Rose, draft picks, and stash players going out.

I don't think OKC would be interested.

By the way, I love the quote from John Wall on your profile. Absolutely awesome.

Rose expires this summer. Why not just pitch to Russ in FA to play alongside Porzingis? If he's looking at leaving then he obviously doesn't value the extra year and money too highly

Its the Knicks so who the heck knows.

If they think they can resign Westbrook they should definitely make the move, but I don't see him staying there with that roster imo. The knicks could swing for the fences though, it'd be in character with their owner's desires.

Their best bet is another shot in FA I guess, see if Westbrook will take a meeting.

Call me crazy, but I'd much rather have Porzingis than Westbrook.

Ceteris paribus, you're crazy.  But with Westbrook's pending FA, I'd also rather have KP.

On a young team like Minnesota that makes sense, but not a team like the Knicks that has Anthony, Noah, and Rose.  They are win now mode and thus you have to take the much better player right now.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
