Quote
BOSTON – CSNNE.com has learned that the Celtics have had discussions about bringing Kris Humphries back to Boston for a second tour of duty.

No deal is imminent because the Celtics’ focus remains on trying to land at least one of their top three free agent targets – Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Atlanta’s Al Horford and Houston’s Dwight Howard.

I wouldn't mind bringing him back for a cheap. He was pretty solid during his stint here.

Quote
In practices, he would often stay after and run end-to-end sprints with the younger players.

It was the kind of stealth leadership that Brad Stevens needed from inside the locker room in what was Stevens’ first season as an NBA coach.

But the interest in Humphries now is two-fold.

First and foremost, he would provide some much-needed depth along the frontline. And with him being more of a stretch big now (108 of his 134 career 3s taken came last season), he fits the versatility mold that Stevens and the Celtics want from all their players.

Rather just bring Pau Gasol instead.

Wow. A thread about bringing in Hump on a team-friendly deal during the eye of the Durantapalooza storm, with no fewer than 24 active threads all going simultaneously. Epic.. TP

Bit of a price difference there...

I would take him back on the cheap. He really did play well here last we saw him. He also played with Horford a bit in the ATL. I think he would be a good cheap pick up in the event we don't re-sign some of our guys (Sullinger, Zeller). TP for the thread.

This is how I feel. He'd be a great stopgap between the Mickey/Bentil development if we let Sully go. He was an awesome teammate and he had such an automatic jumper. Perfect cheap vet to bring in.

With there barely being any free agents left that I want, Hump wouldn't be a bad move. He can rebound, and play tough defense. He didn't complain at all when he was barely playing to start his first season here, so he would make a great 13th man on the roster.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Horford, Amir, Jerebko, Olynyk, Mickey

That's five big men, all of whom I'd prefer to give minutes than Hump.

Then you include the possibility of Bentil or Zizic getting a roster spot.

There's just no need for Hump here.  My guess is that the team was looking at Hump back when it seemed possible they might let Amir and Jerebko go in order to create additional cap space.

No thanks. I'd rather give the minutes to Mickey.

Amir and Olynyk have injury history. I'd rather add bench depth than carry a guy like James Young.

If bigs get hurt, I don't want to have to count on Mickey or Bentil in case they aren't ready. Hump is insurance in case Mickey or Bentil aren't ready.

Zizic isn't going to be on the roster.
