Depends if we get KD or not, although I imagine no Horford means no KD.

But Atlanta can't keep Dwight, Al, and Milsap, can they?

Technically with cap space, yes, if they lose Baze and someone else.

Realistically? No, that's an awful fit and takes even more shooting (along with Teague) from a unit that badly needed more offense and shooting. Nilsson simply CAN NOT play the three full time. They tried it out last year with Splitter, and it failed terribly. Let's also not forget that they have Splitter, too, so adding Howard AND Horford simply doesn't make sense.

If they lose Hordford I go Gasol or Stat. Then keep JJ and AJ.

Pau and Deng on 2 year deals could be an interesting tack to take.
I don't think I take Deng. Team has JJ, Mickey, KO, AJ and possibly Bentil for PF I want simply a vet center and then punt. Target 2017 FA for another dbl max.

More playing time and development exposure for the young ones, I guess. Contented with just being competitive if we couldn't assemble a top caliber roster this season. Several teams are so loaded now.

If we strike out I would focus the year on developing and unearthing talent from within. Looking at the development of young players across the league that just needed an opportunity, Myles Turner, Allen Crabbe, CJ McCollom, Porzingis, Booker, etc... we still haven't given our rookies serious burn... largely because they're on a winning team.

I would still clear Zeller and Sully and make room for Mickey, Hunter, Young, Smart, Yab... to see if we have any diamonds amongst us. Definitely avoid signing old vets like Deng and Gasol as they stifle development and offer no true long term value because they don't make us contenders

Why are everybody's thought we will have to use it. Who do you want to use it on? Bad contracts for more assets?

Nothing.

Hawks fans say they can.

Milsap would get roasted at the 3.
I mean, they can afford them, but are they rejecting small ball outright and playing Milsap at the 3?

Could just use it on nothing and then payout the shortfall evenly to that players currently under contract. I believe that's how it works under the CBA, but correct me if I'm wrong, folks.

Hi there Ian Mahimi. Would you like the max for one year with a non-guaranteed second? Of course you would.

I would be fine with a one year deal for a Gasol-like player, but other than that I don't want to add anyone to this roster long term that isn't a proven All-Star or serviceable role player on reasonable money.

1+1 with team options for Johnson, Jerebko, and Zeller. Then see what next year's trade deadline brings. Those contracts would be manageable to trade if needed and frees us up to go all in next season when there's other options. Then we see what we have in the young guys so we know who to commit to.

If we don't land a top FA.  1+1 max for Pau Gasol.  And I guess we can bring back Amir Johnson and Jerebko at that point.
