It means he's banned from the NBA. I believe he can apply to be reinstated in two years or so.

Hopefully it's an opportunity to get clean and get his life right, but geez, could that have come at a worse time than this offseason?  Then again I wonder what his money would have gone to had he gotten a huge contract.

Mayo ban cannot be for PEDs, however, since he'd never been suspended a second time. Has to be for "drug of abuse."

My bet is at he was at least drinking codeine. Well known side effect is weight gain, which would explain why he randomly got fat a few years ago.
