Quote
I’ve played on eight teams since college — from Reno to Sioux Falls to Sichuan, China.

I am not ready for there to be a ninth.

I have decided to re-sign with Miami. I just wanted to take this time to tell all the fans how much you mean to this team, and to me.

Can’t wait to get back to work and try to bring another championship to Miami. #HeatNation

That is a bummer. I was hoping Whiteside would move teams.

I would have liked to have seen him go to Dallas.

As this eats up all of the heats cap space, does this mean we effectively have the last meeting with Kevin Durant?

That was my thought, as well. I had thought they could not sign Whiteside if they wanted to bring in Durant. I suppose they could always let DWade go...

It would be hilarious if he pulls a Deandre on the Heat.

I mean they pretty much had to sign him .  Bosh may never come back .  Wade is yet older than ever .

Dallas was supposed to be the other contender, which just brings up again what a terrible job Cuban has done there for the last five years.  Every since he let their title team fall apart because that was the "smart" thing to do, almost every move they've made has blown up in their face and they've completely wasted the end of Dirk's career.

I feel bad for Dirk. The Mavs never get anybody.

That's call stability. Something that more and more players look after nowadays.

If they're able to find a taker for Bosh, and Wade doesn't get quite what he's asking for, it's possible.  But it's highly unlikely.  Of Durant's top 6, there are only really four teams that can reasonably create cap room for him -- OKC, Spurs, Golden State, and the Celtics.
