Darren Wolfson-
Other teams in addition to #Twolves to call on Deng tonight: Boston, Miami, and Washington. Utah expected to eventually.

I believe he's a 1+1 big money ideal guy in case we don't get any top FA.

Why? He wouldn't be an improvement over Crowder at this stage and more importantly his signing would affect the development of Jaylan Brown (considering how much playing time Stevens tends to give to his rookies).

He would be signed as. PF, not SF.

Fair enough, that being said what kind of contract are you comfortable giving him? Seeing what's being handed out right now he'll probably command 4 years $72 million. For that I'd pass.

At his age/mileage I would think we can get him for a 3 year deal @ 18M per with a team option or a non-guaranteed 3rd year. He no longer looks effective as a 3, but did seem revitalized once they played him at the 4. In fact, during the Raptors series they were using him at the 5.

Being in play for Durant hamstrings us from going after other guys right now. Hope he is really serious about Interest in Boston.

PG Thomas
SG Bradley
F Crowder
F Deng
C Howard

That's a pretty good starting 5

Deng can shoot.

Unlike most of our current players.

Call him.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Only if you mean mid-range.

Deng makes sense at a low salary if we get Durant and Horford and are filling out the roster with bench players that can contribute in limited minutes.

But it would require getting Durant in the first place and convincing Deng to take a paycut so yeah, it's a long shot.
