[dang] we kinda paid Demetrius.

4 years 5.5 mil. sounds like a lot for pick 45 who had a trash SL.

I missed seeing that dollar amount reported.  Can you share a link?
Whole thread about this:

-Dion Waiters has agreed to a one-year/ 2.9 mill deal with the Heat.

-Wojnarowski: C.J. McCollum and the Trail Blazers have reached agreement on a four-year, $106M contract extension.

-Clippers sign Raymond Felton to vet minimum.

Other

-Sixers signed Brandon Paul (guard) to a partially guaranteed deal.

-Undrafted rookie Tim Quarterman has agreed to a two-year, partially guaranteed deal with the Trail Blazers.

-Jordan Hamilton (NOP, guard/forward) has signed with Tofas Bursa in Turkey.

The Clippers are not acting like a team that is about to shake up the roster. If we are in advanced talks for a star trade, it isn't with LA

How does Raymond Felton as a third string point guard mean anything?

They're up to 15 guaranteed contracts and barely $2 million from the hard cap that they are subject to.  Meanwhile, if they trade Griffin they're presumably going to take on more players than they send out, given Griffin's salary.  Since they could be very strapped for cash, taking on players now, using up limited roster spots in doing so, seems like a poor decision if they have any reasonable belief in a trade coming in the short term.

Woj: Sources: Argentina forward Patricio Garino, who played at George Washington Univ., has reached agreement on deal with the San Antonio Spurs.

I like this move by the Spurs. Even though Patricio wasn't drafted he is still a very promising prospect IMO. Especially when you put into consideration that he's part of Argentina's national team which consists of, inter alia, Ginobili (might have put in a good word for him) and Scola.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Looks like they are actually giving him $8M per year:

Crazy to think Yi will earn the same money as IT, Bradley; and more than Crowder...
Either the Lakers FO is fully incompetent, or they are going all-in on the tank.

We'll see, but I'm going with the Chinese State Media over RealGM on this one.

EDIT: That said, Marc Stein of ESPN said $8 million also, so I semi-recant that (as Stein tweeted it three hours before the Real GM article.)

Socal folks say its a pure business decision, could care less about the basketball impact.

I guess Kobe was HUGE in China, and with him gone, adding Yi keeps them in that market.
