Espn also reported 8M so that's probably the true number. I was surprised to see him signing for 1.4M as he earns way more than that in China.

Considering how much lakers is paying Mozkov, 8M doesn't look so crazy. They'll probably get their money back off court anyway.

Yi is not a bad player, his problem is he never know how to be a good role player, but he's not good enough to be a star, not in NBA level. Not sure how is he going to work out this time

I think i read something from one of the LA reporters that his deal has lots of incentives. Base salary is the 1.4M, but with incentives it can reach all the way to 8M
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Incentives can't be for more than 15% of the base salary.

Maybe it's 8M renminbi. The exchange rate is a little more than 6 so that might be the answer.
Celtics fan for life.

I'm not a cap expert, but I thought what you thought.

NBA source calls Yi Jianlian's contract "very creative." Non-guaranteed vet's min deal for $1.1 mill can increase to $8 mill w/ incentives.

I find that questionable.  Per cbafaq:

Other rules related to incentives:

Minimum salary contracts cannot contain bonuses of any kind.

I thought about it but the numbers don't add up, a veteran min for him is 1.14m(not 1.4m i mistakenly said earlier), that's a bit off from $8m
