Honestly, that's a good contract for Brooklyn, especially in this market.

Lin to the Nets doesn't bother me. When Jack, Lopez and Young were playing in Brooklyn early last year the Nets were still a bottom 3 team. Now Young is gone. Lin doesn't move the needle in Brooklyn right now.

Wow, that's not actually too bad.  It's a lot for a PG in this market, but as overpays go this really isn't bad.  Good job by Marks
I'm bitter.

Yeah that's good value. Question is will this stop them going after another PG like Rondo or Jennings? Because if so I see this as good news. Blow the rest of their money on Eric Gordon or someone..

Who makes them better, Lin or Rondo?

Nice signing by the Nets. Seems like a reasonable contract and he had great success in the NYC market before.
Celtics fan for life.

Yeah, I think it will since they still have Bogan and RJH, which is good news. Either one of those has more potential to hurt us than Lin, imo.

Yep, given the deals we've seen so far, 12 mill per year for Lin seems reasonable.
I wonder when Philly will sign some guards. With Ish Smith gone (and Canaan probably gone too) they need guards more than ever.

Who knew that Nets of all teams would be the ones to give out the reasonable contract.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
The Nets signing Lin is a very smart move by Sean Marks.
They can run a bunch of young draft picks out there with him, and while they'll lose, they'll build an enormous Chinese and Taiwanese following while he's scoring 20 points a night and it doesn't matter if they win or not- the money will be flowing in.
Their TV deals and merchandise sales in Asia will simply be enormous.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
