If we strike out on KD, Hereford and Howard.   Would you absorb Kanters 17/18 and Player option for 18 the third year?    Maybe Young and a couple rookies for a Kanter?

Noah 18 Million
Mozgov 16 Million
Howard 24 Million
Beal
Nick Batum looking for max
Ken Bazmore looking for 18

no, only because I think it hurts Boston's chances of making another run at KD next year

It might not be the worst idea if we strike out on everything else. If OKC throws in a few extra assets, we'd essentially be getting Jahlil Okafor with rebounding ability, and instead of giving up the #3 pick, we'd be getting extra goodies.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

But dat p0rn 'stache, tho ;D.

haha...

We could still offer him a max....   What about helping the Clippers.  CP3, BLAKE or Jordan.

While all options will be discussed, the Clippers are expected to a highlight a scenario in which Durant would sign a deal to play alongside Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. To make the most competitive offer possible, the Clippers would have to trade J.J. Redick, Paul Pierce and C.J. Wilcox and renounce the rights to first-round pick Brice Johnson and all of their own free agents. The Clippers could also discuss scenarios in which they trade one member of their “Big Three,” either to a team with cap space or to the Thunder in a sign-and-trade. 1 day ago – via Orange County Register
Draft, Free Agency, Trade, Brice Johnson, CJ Wilcox, JJ redick, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder

First of all, Kanter's contract is not a bargain.  You're talking about paying $17M for a guy who has been THE worst defensive big in the NBA for about 4 or 5 years running.

True, he's a talented offensive player and an outstanding rebounder - that's why he's on $17M a year rather than $8m a year.  But his defensive limitations are the reason why he's on $17m and not >$20m.

At the time of the deal, his contract was an overpay.  Now that the cap is rising, it's about fair.  It's not a rip off, but it's certainly not a bargain...and there is no way I take Kanter over Horford, even if Horford is making $5km more.

Enes Kanters contract could never have been more than $20M.

And if you haven't noticed, "fair market" is becoming a bargain. It will be even more so next season. As percentages of the cap go, $17M is about what $12M was this year. Next year it will be around $10M or $11M.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

Actually, with his trade kicker of 15% I think he'll be making right at $20M next year if he were to be traded.

Ahhh. So he couldn't have been signed to a $20M deal, but his current contract could get him there.

So, if traded, his contract next year would be the equivalent of a $14M pact from this season and the next season it would be the equivalent of $12M.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.
