Before they were Celtics, Dominique and KG - easily. I was so happy that each of them got to play for my beloved Cs.

But for the sake of this question, I will have to go with Hakeem, with David Robinson as a close second.

Timmy. He would have been such a great Celtic.

Others: Grant Hill, T-Mac, Kemp. Billups and Payton were not C's in their prime so they get a mention, too.

I was so happy Shaq and KG were Celtics befor retiring.

I guess Tim Duncan and Dave Robinson were guys I admired .  They play the game and lived their life's the right way.

I enjoyed Steve Nash and Stocktons prime too

I was huge DRJ fan when he was a Va Squires player .

I also like Moses Malone too.

Too many favs.

I was high on KLOve at first .  He fell off my bandwagon.

Second post in the topic because I just noticed nobody has mentioned Larry's sparring partner: Magic. Good basketball and a likeable guy. I hope that's not sacrilege around here :)

Significant respect for K Malone

A certain bizarre begrudging respect for Kobe while also hating him

Admiration for the Answer

A certain strong love for Christian Laetner for his college days

Admiration for Kareem

A certain bizarre love for Magic

Recognition of Duncan

Mine was Kevin Garnett.  Oh wait?  Besides KG, I'd probably say Rasheed Wallace. Oh wait, him too.
Okay, it's got to be Michael Jordan right?

That's the tricky part, I am a UNC fan in addition to a Celtic fan so most of the time it will be those players.

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Probably Kareem - followed by Magic.

Can't stand either of them to this day because of the Purple and Gold ties, but learning about Kareem the MAN over the years has taught me so much about him.

That Skyhook will arguably go down as the deadliest weapon in basketball history...I've only seen it blocked twice - by Manute Bol and Hakeem.

He's also garnered me some CelticsBlog Historical Draft recognition (LOVED my Kareem-KG frontline).

Magic? His relationship with Larry...the rivalry in the 80's....the closeness right after Magic's HIV announcement....this seals it for me.

Off the top of my head, Earl Monroe, Wes Unseld.  I'm sure there's more

Hakeem, The Big O

After Drazen I loved chuck person. That duel with Larry was awesome. I loved how he got hot and nodded his head. Reminded me of Clubber Lang.
