If it comes down to us vs Atlanta and Horford goes to okc, I have to believe we're the choice.

To me a dream scenario would be Dallas stirikng out on free agents and they decide to blow it up, we could offer dirk a max for a few years, but not likely

Pau Gasol is more of a center and didn't work in LA with him and Howard.

Ryan Anderson would be a nice fit but is expected to get 20 mil per, too limited

The trade market I would look into guys like Zac Randolph and Paul Millsap

If love is available he's the guy to me

So my list  would be
Love
Millsap
Dirk
Randolph

Who else?

With Howard as our goalie/center, Olynyk with his 40% 3PT shooting is fine with me. I would rather spend cap space to improve our outside shooting on another 40% 3PT  shooter like Jared Dudley at the wing so that at times I could have a small ball lineup of Howard, Crowder and Dudley up front.

I think Milsap is the guy to pair with Howard for several reasons:

1) he should be available if Horfors leaves Atl

2) he should be decently cheap given his age and contract status (PO next year and expected to exercise it to opt out)

3) great two-way, stretch fit next to Howard.

We'd be the best defensive team in the league with three all-defensive teamers, a former DPOY, and two other borderline all-defensive team rotation players. Our offense would also be much improved.

Olynyk, Dudley, Jae, and Deng are all great options. Honestly, Olynyk would probably be the best fit of all.

Yeah, KO would actually be a pretty good fit.

I could see the Celtics going small around Howard, as he's such a lane-clogger in both the best and worst sense of the words.  You need both perimeter scorers and defenders around him.  Something like IT-Bradley-Crowder-Brown(or Turner) might be a good fit.  KO's a decent fit as well, as would be Deng, Millsap and Anderson.  Love fits the bill offensively but not defensively.  Randolph seems like a terrible fit, frankly so do Amir, Sully.  Maybe Mickey fits if his jumper becomes reliable.  Bender might have been the perfect fit.

I'm in agreement with Love or Millsap - they would totally thrive next to Dwight. Love, especially, would greatly benefit by playing with all-defense players at every other position.

No matter what, just say no to Ryan Anderson!

At least get Howard first before making plans on who to pair him with.  All these expectations smh

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

Millsap would be ideal, as he improves with age.

But I'm going Ryan Kelly. Should be had for 15-20 mil, which I'd consider a steal.

I agree Millsap would be most attainable and is a 2 way player

Would you give up Brown and Amir, filler for him? I probably would.

We would have a number 2 scorer in IT and #3a and b options with Millsap and Howard.

We would have lock down defense on both perimeter and at the rim.

We would be a go to scorer away from being a legit contender (Melo,Durant,George, maybe even Butler)

2016 roster

IT               Rozier
Ab.              Smart
Crowder.    Jerebko
Millsap.       Mickey
D12               Ko

I hope you actually meant Ryan Anderson at $15-$20 M, instead of this guy.

Pfft. Kelly was a hero at Duke, just hasn't been giving an opportunity to shine in the league. I heard he has a 44 inch max vert.

I think the price on trading for Milsap wouldn't be cheap.  He also has a player option for next year, so it could be a one year rental.  Of course, maybe that would keep his price down, but I really see Atlanta holding out for a Brooklyn pick.  While it's true they only got pick #12 for Teague, the market for bigs tends be be stronger than the market for PGs.

I think the perfect situation would be to pair him with two "new NBA" forwards like Jae Crowder and Jaylin Brown ... with Amir Johnson, Kelly O., & Mickey on the bench.

Wait a second ...
