I bet it's due diligence in case KD might want us to make a run at him or Horford or anybody available. We'll probably start hearing there's interest.

Wow! That is interesting, and it really shows you how much our status has risen around the league in the last several years. Remember two years ago when he wouldn't even agree to meet with us?

Huh, players really wanna meet with us. This is kinda fun. I like it

Here's the whole story: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/16602489/dwight-howard-meet-atlanta-hawks-boston-celtics
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I still like Dwight, and if his market is as limited as it seems, I'd love to bring him in for 2-3 years at around $15-20 million per year.

If I leave personal feelings aside, I can talk  myself into it.

His demise has been greatly exaggerated.

I remember reporters saying he doesn't want to play in Boston.
So why does he meet with us?
Media has become a joke lately. They play GM and have no real insider info.

Solid get if he's signed. Just a perfect fit all around, & makes this team far better with the roster as is.

I'd like context on that, since all I've seen out of Howard's mouth is a lot of praise for our organization and our fans.

This was years ago though.

Howard has matured, he's not the diva he used to be.
He was good in Houston, imagine what he can do in Boston.
I'm all for a 1+1 deal with him.

After a poor season last year, I doubt any team will want to throw max money at him for 4 years.  Hopefully, we can convince him to a 1+1 deal to up his value this season.  I don't mind paying him the max if it will only be for one season with an option for the 2nd year.
