I am in rant mode today.

Saw an article the other day that said that Durant stated he does not want to have a repeat of the FA circus again next year.

Now, first that does not mean he won't sign a 1+1 deal for financial purposes - he will.  But I do think it does mean that he will not look to move from the team that he signs with.

So why are journalists stating that Durant will sign 1+1 with OKC this year and then we can pursue him next year? He stated this is the year he will pursue FA and that is it.

So Celtics fans we either get Durant this year or wait for the next disgruntled all-star to be come available.

On to the next point.  Teams do not trade away their all-stars unless, the all-star wants out or is close to being washed up/coming off injury.  That is how we ended up with KG and Ray Allen.  Not because the assets we traded were amazing. MIN needed to trade KG and SEA was looking to move on from the oft injured, coming off surgery, bad ankles Allen.

We cannot obtain an all-star because we have the Brooklyn picks and other young under great contract players.  Those are only worth something if all-star has to be traded.  For example if (Mrs) Curry and GSW management p--- each other off this off season, and Curry wants out, yes then our BKN picks are worth something.  Offering the picks (no matter how valuable) for the player when there is no need to trade -- you get laughed at.  So pray that a 1st team NBA all-star and his current team have a fall out.  Then Mr Ainge can waltz in and make a godfather offer for him.
