Less than a week after the draft we have Brown = Rookie of the year, Brown > Ingram, Brown is the reincarnated Len Bias...yikes.

Welcome to CelticsBlog.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Welcome to CelticsBlog.

Better then 'the rapture' like behaviour of just after the draft...

You know that old creepy house in every New England town that the people won't talk about because something bad happened there? That's how I feel about Len Bias, let alone compare him to Jaylen Brown.

I truly hate this thread because I think it's disrespectful to both players.

Comparing a 19 year old Brown to the ghost of Bias is disrespectful to the things Brown can bring to this team. Brown has an entirely different style and skill set. His game is based much more on quickness combined with a slashing style. But it's really not fair to compare him to Bias. If he were the next Paul Pierce he couldn't live up to the unknown potential of Bias. Brown needs to come in and play his game and not be compared with a 22 year old guy who has been dead for 30 years.

And comparing Bias to Brown is disrespectful to his memory. Bias remains probably one of the most perfect physical specimens that has ever played college basketball. His vertical was almost off the charts. He had to duck his head not to hit it on the rim on dunks. His game was a foot above the rim. The guy wasn't the quickest but he was fast enough and exceptionally powerful. He also developed a very sweet shot (86% from the line his senior year) and thus was virtually unguardable by other college players. He should have been perfect for the late 80s physical game because he was so strong he could have taken the banging/hacking and still gone up for the dunk over everyone. His battles with MJ could have been epic.

But alas...the leprechaun died that day with him.

So let's not do this, ok? Let each guy be his own man, one immortalized as one of the greatest "what ifs" and the other just starting his journey towards greatness.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.
