I don't know if Parsons is a max player. I know Afflalo isn't. Could Afflalo be had for $10-11M. Parsons would likely require $18Mish. It would open us up to making a trade of some of our young players (Crowder most likely) in exchange for a center. ...maybe Noel is still available?

We'd have

IT/Avery Bradley
Afflalo/J. Brown
Parsons
Olynyk
Amir Johnson

As our veteran starting five. Smart, Crowder, Jerebko, Evan Turner, would be casualties.

Jae is better than Parsons, and Bradley is significantly better than Afflalo. This makes zero sense whatsoever IMO.

Afflalo is a better shooter than Bradley. And Parsons is a significantly better shooter than Crowder. Do you disagree that the Cs need shooting?

If we get a Biyombo/Howard/Whiteside type center, then Parsons would make an interesting option at PF.

No real reason to bring in Afflalo; Rozier needs to be getting minutes this year.

Of course the C's need shooting, but three point shooting is not the only aspect of basketball, which is why Jared Dudley, Brandon Rush, Kyle Korver, Jerryd Bayless, and Doug McDermott aren't max players.

Neither is Crowder. Neither is Avery Bradley. Neither is Chandler Parsons. Neither is Aaron Afflalo. If any want max cash, Id advocate telling them to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. off.

I would too. His injury history is UGLY, and I'm not even enamored with him as a player.

I read an article yesterday that Parsons is expecting a max.. He'll be one of the players that has a contract that destroys a teams future.

Two mediocre players who don't move the needle for the Celtics but would necessitate them cutting some younger players. Pass.

I agree.  Neither player moves the needle and Parsons with his injury history and since we just drafted Brown would not be a smart move.  Also, Afflalo only shot 2% better on 3's than Bradley (36% to 38%) so there's not much difference and Bradley is WAY out of Afflalo's league defensively....

Unless we are going after a guy like Butler or Durant I wouldn't really want them to go after anymore wing players.  The 4 and 5 positions is what really needs to be upgraded.
