Australian guard Matthew Dellavedova may not be with his championship Cleveland Cavaliers team much longer, after a US report of massive offers from NBA rivals the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons.

Dellavedova, who is a restricted free agent, has been tipped for a “$10 million offer sheet” (per season) by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, speaking on The Lowe Post podcast.

Dellavedova, 25, was tipped for a huge pay rise last season but after a tepid finish to an NBA Finals campaign that started with “Dellymania”, he took a modest one-year extension for about $US1.2 million from the Cavs.

“They could’ve signed Matthew Dellavedova to a $2 or $3 million a year contract and now I think someone is coming in with a $10 million offer sheet,” Windhorst said.

“For some reason, and I got a pretty good idea why, the Milwaukee Bucks attended Cavs games in the playoffs like they were a fan of the team. They had scouts there, (coach) Jason Kidd came to one of the games. I think the Bucks have zeroed in on Dellavedova. I think they intend to offer him a bunch of money.

“The Detroit Pistons were hanging around in the playoffs a lot, sending scouts. They weren’t sending scouts to evaluate J.R. (Smith), I think they intend to go after Dellavedova.”

- Cap has gone up thus average wages too

- Great team mate, does dirty work

- had career year in every stat category

-Lob connection with James could be devastating with Drummond

- 40% from 3 this season

- fantastic on ball defender

Why do that when they could have signed Ron Baker, who went undrafted, instead?

if he's worth 10 then things will definitely get out of hand for these guys. Hell, pay AB 20m next. NO SIR! Ridiculous!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I should have said in the first post that at this stage this is a rumour more than anything and also that the original source is Windhorst (not the best tbh).

It makes a person shake their head to be sure, but it has to happen.

The numbers are ridiculous, true, but the salary cap increase is going to fill the pockets of a LOT of middle tier players.

Which is why the contracts we have in place right now are so valuable...not only for us, but for possible trades in the future.

Sounds like he'd be a great fit in Miami, then ::).
