1.  You got a gift from the NETS and chose a blue chip prospect in Brown.   Celtic fans being Celtic fans have nitpicked on the negative aspects of Brown to death.  But what is real is, he is a blue chip prospect that played on a so so collegiate team,  had a good but not great freshman year and has a high upside.   Nba body already + elite explosiveness + skills +defense

2. You got a gift from the Mavs and chose a  unique prospect in Yabu.  The blend of bulk, strength , explosiveness and skills are rare.   Again negatively some have compared him to Anthony Bennett. But unlike Bennett, Yabu has a good IQ and plays with a high level of energy.

3. Zizic (1997 born btw) was awarded center of the year by FIBA last season.   He has a pro body, strength, length, can leap and is an elite rebounder.  He has a high motor

4.  Jackson and Bentil are 1st round talents that dropped onto our laps in the 2nd round.  I mean Jackson could of been chosen 16 and Bentil 23.   With being able to operate with more space at the NBA level,   these players game could really flourish

All four of these players could be playing together in a year or two and be making contributions for the Celts championship run.

Danny and company did a great job

I doubt most those guys will play a single regular season or playoff minute in a Celtics uniform.

The bar in the last ten years is so low I have to totally agree.

Yabusele is the real wildcard of this draft. Brown Zizic Jackson and Bentel strike me as good selections.

Jackson might be a massive steal. I think Brown plays right away.

I certainly hope Brown plays right away. He's the #3 pick.

A lot of "ifs" that have to happen but it would be nice.   We can only hope.

This was entire draft full of project picks.  The one guy who has the NBA ready skills isn't a natural and will have a lot of learning to do.  We won't see any of this pay off for several years if it does at all.

Crowder, IT and Yabu from the proceeds of the Rondo sale.  Mark Cuban won't be crowing about that particular trade in coming years!  Fascinating draft, and I suspect that Bentil could be the sleeper of the bunch.

I agree with Triboy, we got a two-way player and potential star in Brown, a legit young center who is an outstanding rebounder in Zizic, which we desperately need, a young PF who is supersized, quick, and talented, compared by many to Draymond Green and Larry Johnson in Yabusele, and two steals of the draft in Jackson and Bentil.

When Brown turns into the next Pierce/Butler, and Yabusele and Zizic start showing their potential on the court, all of these fans criticizing Ainge will pretend they never did so and find something else to whine about.

The NBA draft is never a sure thing... Even when you look at past drafts there are some where virtually no impact players are drafted in a given year... and even a good or better draft may produce 10 players who give a strong contribution to their team.. That being said its good the Celtics used 6 total picks with two in the top 16 plus another one that most people like in Zizic..
As OP pointed out the Celtics for the most part were GIVEN these picks so its like going to the casino with house money... There was not a single Celtics player that everyone immediately wanted back except for Rondo but now all are grateful in getting Crowder back plus a first rounder.. Ainge continues to do a great job and most have to realize this FA market is practically a fair market for anyone... everyone has cap space and like it or not Boston is NOT a destination place... Its a cold city, highly racist city, has minimal attractions, so if the Celtics can win over some players with a great coach, good chemistry, storied franchise thats all the best... But overall the team has to build the nucleus through the draft and I thought he did a hell of a job..

It takes years of careful aging to create a fine whine.  Don't fear, I have many empty oak barrels ready for the crew here.
